Chapter 179

“I think Captain Reid saved me.”

Scarlett pointed toward Hayley, her eyes steady and certain.

After watching Hayley shock the entire field today, Scarlett was even more convinced. The more she thought about it afterward, the more it all lined up.

Hayley was remarkably powerful!

Otherwise, Scarlett couldn’t explain why that zombie suddenly froze.

Malcolm listened and glanced toward Hayley. His eyes darkened with thought. After studying Hayley for a good three seconds, he patted Scarlett’s head.

“Finish eating first. Tomorrow, I’ll go thank her properly. No matter what, she saved us today.”

“Okay!”

On Hayley’s side, everyone finished eating. The Base K1 crews started packing up and loading their supplies.

Every inventory-variant Gifted they had came over, along with dozens of massive cargo trucks. Together, they loaded almost all

the grain they were allotted.

It was enough for their base to eat for years. Their early food crisis would be massively relieved.

After they finished loading, Hayley slipped into the first granary.

It was completely full, 5,000 tons in total.

She placed her hand on the grain. In an instant, the mountain of wheat surged into her storage.

Within minutes, the entire warehouse was emptied.

Then, she moved to the next granary. Everything left in that one vanished into her inventory as well.

By the time she was done, her inventory was almost maxed out. If she found another huge stash in the future, she would barely

have room for it.

Right then, she heard a voice in her mind.

Ding!

[Super Lord System activated! Host, please increase your base population. When your population doubles, your inventory space will also double!]

Hayley’s eyes widened.

Finally, a new task!

This system was unbelievably thoughtful. Whatever she lacked, it delivered.

Now, she needed to increase her population. As soon as she got back, she would round people up.

After emptying both granaries, Hayley returned feeling very satisfied.

The next morning, everyone was prepared to head back.

Before departure, Liam approached her. “Do you want me to station some people here? They can haul more grain back for you.”

“No need. I’ll handle it myself,” Hayley said.

She was eager to return and recruit population, so she didn’t waste time chatting with Liam. She got into her truck with Leonard and drove off ahead of everyone else.

Watching her leave, Liam remembered what had happened with Nadia previously. He already knew the answer in his heart.

Staring after Hayley’s vehicle, he told Derek, “When we leave, put an extra lock on the place.”

“Yes, sir.”

Their convoy left last, after everyone else was gone.

Not long after they departed, another group of vehicles returned. The man leading them surveyed the empty granary yards, his cold gaze sharp.

“Move in.”

“Got it!”

Hope Base had waited nearby through the night after being driven off by Hayley. The moment they saw everyone leave in the morning, they rushed back to steal whatever was left.

Alex went straight for the first granary, only to find an additional lock on the massive door.

“Just one lock?”

He walked forward. As he approached, the lock rattled violently, then snapped apart with a sharp crack, falling to pieces in front

of everyone.

With a control-variant gift, he could command anything inside his field.
