Chapter 237

Things were lively over at Base K1, completely different with Shieid Base.

Shield Base didn’t bring much food. Everyone just boiled some water and made instant goodles, one bowl per person, and called

it a meal.

The smell drifting over from next door made it even harder to swallow.

If it had only been Base K1 eating over there, Wallace would definitely have gone over with a thick face and suggested they eat

together.

His people could have offered some noodles and begged for a little broth and meat in return.

But Hayley was there.

After getting put in his place by her, Wallace didn’t dare say a single word. He could only stare at thertreating real food while his own people slurped instant noodles.

After everyone was fed, it was time to rest.

Base K1 split into two shifts. Half stayed up to guard the first half of the night, and the other half slept. Then, they would switch.

Naturally, Hayley didn’t have to do anything at all. After treating them to such a good meal, everyone treated her like the group’s

favorite.

They let her sleep in the middle, with the others forming a circle around her.

Hayley had seen worse than this. Being surrounded by men while sleeping didn’t bother her in the least.

She wrapped herself in thick coats and went to sleep right in the center.

The snowstorm continued through the night.

The air kept getting colder and colder.

In winter, a mall without heating was freezing. The place was too wide and open, and any warmth vanished almost immediately.

The whole mall had only one dim LED lamp giving off a cold light.

Now that everything had been cleared out, the mall felt emptier than ever The tall glass windows reflected the orange glow of the snow outside, lighting up the inside faintly.

Hayley woke up halfway through the night from the cold.

It was freezing.

Even sleeping in the middle of a group of strong men, she couldn’t escape the chill.

Maybe men and women Just felt cold differently. Sleeping in an empty mall during a cold snap like this, Hayley was truly freezing.

“What’s wrong?”

As she crawled out from under the pile of coats, a voice came from beside her.

Liam had woken up as well.

“I’m going to the bathroom,” Hayley said, putting on four layers and standing up.

Walking around would warm her up a bit.

“Do you want me to go with you?”

Hayley looked at him like he was crazy. “What, you want to hold frands and go together?”

Liam went quiet.

After all, girls often went to the bathroom in pairs.

Hayley waved him off and carefully slipped out of the circle, heading for the mall restrooms.

The bathrooms were at the very ends of the last row, one on the far left and one on the far right. Their sleeping area was right in the middle, so she had to walk all the way down.

She picked the one on the right and headed that way.
