Chapter 449
Chapter 449
“Sharon!”
“Nash!”
The girl ran toward Nash, her backpack bouncing against her back.
“What’s all this?” she asked.
“It’s the holiday package the boss handed out to every resident in the base.” Nash passed the pile into her ar
Sharon’s eyes went wide instantly.
“I get some, too?”
“Of course. All Haylight Base residents get it.”
Hearing that, Sharon stared at the mountain of supplies and couldn’t help sucking in a sharp breath.
This was way too much.
That slab of pork had to weigh at least ten pounds.
There was a full set of fall clothes for girls.
That big box had to be Hearthfall cake, right?
And that little glass bottle… Was that a gold nugget?
How could there be this much?
“Take it. Raymond already had his delivered by drone. This one’s yours.”
Nash set everything firmly into her hands.
“You can bring the pork to the school cafeteria and trade it for meal credits. You’ll get an extra meat dish with every meal. Oh, and you’ve got 100 points, too. You can use those at the base market whenever you want.”
Sharon blinked, her eyes shining, and nodded as she accepted everything.
“Thank you.”
“No need to thank me. Thank the boss. Without her, I wouldn’t be living like this either.” Nash grinned, flashing bright smile.
“Haven’t you always been following her?”
“Not at all. I used to be with Tomorrow Base in Crestford. Over there, forget holiday benefits. One wrong move, and you’d lose your life.”
Sharon frowned. “How could a place be that scary?”
“It was probably worse than what I’m saying ”
Nash shivered as memories of his days under Scoft surfaced. He looked at Sharon seriously.
“Haylight League is hands down the best base in the entire Eastern region. I’ve lived it myself. You being able to join us means you got seriously lucky.”

“Yeah!” Sharon nodded hard.
Good or bad wasn’t something you judged by words.
You could see it with your own eyes.
Meeting Hayley really was a stroke of insane luck for them.
“Oh, right. What about yours?” she asked.
“Ours get handed out separately. The boss said those of us who follow her directly get special distributions.”
“What do you get?”
Nash scratched the back of his head and smiled. “No idea yet. I’ll tell you tomorrow.”
“Okay!”
The two of them walked on slowly, their backs to the sinking sun.
“By the way, what do you learn at school now?”
“Combat training, first aid, driving cars and flying planes, engineering, mechanics, all kinds of stuff. The teach said that during midterms, he’ll take us to the first defense line to fight zombies.”
“That soon?”
“We’re not afraid of zombies at all. We’re even going to compete to see who kills more.”
