After spraying that wave of black water, the high–level zombie didn’t press the attack.
It ran.
The whole thing took maybe two seconds. One blink, and it was gone.
“Damn it!” Hayley hissed, feeling her saber cut through empty air. She stepped back, eyes sweeping both ends of the hall
But the zombie was gone. Only streaks of black liquid were left on the floor.

From the stairwell came a scraping sound.
“Raarh! Raarh!”
The twisted girl zombie was dragging itself back up the steps, limbs bending the wrong way.

Hayley grabbed Griffin and followed the group inside. At the doorway, she sliced the twisted zombie cleanly in half before it

Hayley gave a brief nod.
As soon as they were in, Marvin’s voice cut through the room.
“Check yourselves, now. That black water is corrosive. If it has touched your skin, rinse it immediately. Don’t hide it. Tell me
His thick outer jacket was smoking slightly at the back where the liquid had splashed
He stripped it off quickly. His clothes underneath were untouched.
