Chapter 682
Aside from Griffin, who had seen this before with Hayley, everyone else’s faces changed instantly Was Sawyer turning into a zombie?
Some grabbed their weapons. Others backed away fast. Felix’s group shrank into the comer, clearly rattled. They had obviously never seen anything like this.
Hayley knew exactly what it was.
This happened to those from Scott’s base who had eaten zombie crystal cores. These people were chewing them raw. Of course, something like this would happen.
Scott’s expression darkened the moment he saw Sawyer. He walked over, face cold and unreadable
“Can you hold it in?”
This episode had clearly been building for a while. Sawyer was in agony. When he looked up, his eyes were bloodshot, twisted with pain. But the moment they met Scott’s gaze, fear still broke through
It left him trembling, caught between terror and suffering. He clutched his head as he rolled on the floor trying to calm himself and failing completely.
All he could do was beg.
“B-Boss… Help me…please…”
Scott’s gentle eyes turned sharp, a thin, chilling intent flashing through them. He pulled out Sawyer’s knife, ready to end it for him.
“I’ve got it.” Hayley’s voice cut in.
Scott turned as she walked over. There was a small black pill resting in her palm.
“Take it.”
Sawyer’s mind was already slipping. His whole body shook, and his eyes were red. The guy was barely holding on.
But when he saw the pill, he let go of his arm and swallowed it without hesitation. The moment it hit his tongue, it dissolved.
A cool sensation spread from his mouth through his entire body.
The pressure in his head, like it was about to explode, got doused in an instant, as if someone had poured cold water over it. The pain that had been driving him insane started to fade.
The red in his eyes receded, visible even to the naked eye.
His body slowly relaxed.

Sawyer collapsed onto the floor, gasping for air.
Scott watched the whole thing, and something in his eyes lit up completely.
Even Hayley couldn’t help but be impressed.
System-made stuff really didn’t disappoint.
This was the detox pill she had picked up earlier.
When she saw Sawyer lose control, it clicked immediately. She wanted to test the pill, sure. More than that, she realized she might’ve just found a way to keep Tomorrow Base in check
Scott looked at Sawyer, now fully recovered, the dangerous edge in his gaze gone. He turned sharply to Hayley.
“What was that?”
“Something our League developed.” Hayley gave him a small gesture. “Come on. We’ll talk somewhere quieter.”
There were too many people here.
She led him back into the bathroom.
