Chapter 764

“I want to know the full extent of this test subject’s potential!”

The man’s voice trembled, excitement running straight through him.

Hayley’s strength had him shaking to his core.

This was beyond anything anyone had expected, beyond anything anyone had imagined could emerge from the apocalypse. Hayley was a once-in-a-lifetime prodigy, the perfect test subject.

“Make her show everything she’s got. No holding back!”

He rose to his feet, eyes locked on the warship pulling away. The access card hanging from his chest was different from the others; it was black and gold.

At its center were two sharp, gleaming letters: SS.

Hayley’s warship cut through the water, heading toward her league.

On deck, Susan stood frozen, staring at the crowd gathered around Hayley as they rapidly reported updates.

From their conversation, she realized these people were running a massive league.

Its base was in Aecraton, an entire city already under their control.

What…

Susan looked at Hayley, shock written all over her face.

“Everything’s been stable these past few days. We just secured a refinery, and the crude oil we pulled is already being processed. Soon, we’ll have gas-powered vehicles back on the road. Our front line’s pushed about a third of the way into Crestford. Scott’s group has been fighting hard. Progress has been smooth,” Alex said.

“Is Scott behaving that well?” Hayley turned, sipping her drink.

“Yes. He’s been completely cooperative. He’s even been asking about his detox pills these past two days.”

Hayley bit down on the straw, thinking.

Was Scott this obedient? Was the detox pill really enough to keep him in line without her watching?

Something about it felt a little too perfect.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, a roar thundered overhead as a formation of fighter jets swept in. The warship’s missile defense system activated, but the incoming jets were heading straight for her league.

Standing on the deck, Hayley took in the scene. Her eyes instantly flared with a fierce, rising killing intent.

This again.

A second later, the sky erupted with explosions.

Not ground strikes, but air-to-air.

Every defensive system on Hayley’s ship came online at once.

Enhanced anti-air missiles streaked upward like fireworks, launching in rapid succession toward the incoming aircraft

Every single shot hit its mark with pinpoint accuracy. In less than ten minutes, every jet that had roared overhead was blasted out of the sky.

The defense system unleashed its full power.

Seeing it, Hayley snapped, “Pick up the speed. We’re heading back.”

“Got it!”

Back on shore.

Liam stood there, staring at the missile defense system’s overwhelming effectiveness, lost in thought.

Had their country’s tech really reached this level before the apocalypse?

This was…insane.

The moment radar picked up unidentified aircrafts approaching, he had rushed over with his team. Remembering the last loss, he had also ordered everyone into the shelters.
