Startled, Archer ducked right behind his dad.

Harriet's fingers twitched.

Scaring a kid was one thing.

Shaking off her goosebumps, she turned, grabbed Seraphina's hand, and slid into the back of the car.

They couldn't all fit in one.

Jason led Archer into his Maybach.

As they pulled away from the park, Jason looked back at the boy's sparkling eyes. "Did you have a good time with your mom today?"

Leaving at dawn and coming home after dark.

And dealing with her period on top of it.

Harriet felt like an absolute warrior.

The moment she got home, she bolted for the bathroom.

After a hot shower and a face mask, she felt completely refreshed.

Coming out to the living room, she noticed the nanny and the kids were gone.

Jason was sitting on a barstool by the kitchen island.

He hadn't changed into his loungewear, making her wonder if he was going back out.
