Was Harriet getting kicked out of the Whitaker family?

Serena's breathing hitched with excitement.

Harriet had been an absolute nightmare since the day she got married. God only knew what Jason really thought of her, but the rest of the Whitakers had clearly reached their limit.

The tabloid rumors about a billionaire divorce were practically a weekly occurrence, and everyone assumed it was Jason and Harriet.

Now that Jason's beloved first love was back, wasn't Harriet's fate completely sealed?

She had no way out, which was exactly why she was crawling back to the Sargent family.

"Harriet..." Despite the thrill of thinking she had guessed the truth, Serena kept her face perfectly composed, her tone soft and gentle. "Why didn't Archer come back with you?"

Before leaving that morning, Lana had mentioned that Jason wanted to take Archer back to the Whitaker Manor for lunch.

Knowing he would only be at the Sargent house for a few minutes before having to leave again, Harriet had decided not to bring him.

Now, even though she didn't know exactly what Serena was so secretly thrilled about, Harriet wasn't going to give her the satisfaction. "If you like kids so much, why don't you hurry up, get married, and have your own?"

Serena was stunned.

They were both 26. Harriet had two kids, while Serena was still single.

To outsiders, she was praised as a career-driven woman, the very picture of modern independence.

But to those in the know, they whispered that she had no self-awareness and was just stubbornly clinging to the Sargent family.

Serena had heard her fair share of nasty comments.

She just never expected to hear them coming out of Harriet's mouth.

"Harriet..." Serena looked incredibly wronged. "That's not what I meant!"

"Then what? Are you blind to the adorable little girl standing right in front of you?"

Harriet smiled, waiting to see what kind of garbage Serena would try to spew next.

Serena gritted her teeth, forcing a gentle smile as she looked at Seraphina. "Seraphina, want me to take you to the greenhouse to catch butterflies?"

"No!" Seraphina refused sharply, burying her face into Audrey's legs. "I want to stay with Grandma!"

Oh, my goodness!

Audrey's heart completely melted. She scooped Seraphina up, showering her with kisses and hugs before leading her off to the playroom.
