Just then, a hand shot out of nowhere, clamped down on Mallory's wrist, and violently jerked her out of her seat.

Caught completely off guard, Mallory slammed into the table. Glasses and wine bottles crashed to the floor with a deafening shatter, startling everyone in the room.

Preston Pierce's face was thunderous, his voice dripping with ice. "Are you that desperate for a man? You just throw yourself at anyone who walks by?"

Jillian immediately rushed over, trying to pry Preston's fingers apart. "Preston, calm down! This is just a friendly dinner."

"A friendly dinner?" Preston sneered, shooting a glacial glare at the young actor. "He reeks of cheap cologne. I didn't realize you were into this kind of trash now."

Mallory looked up at him, her eyes flaring with defiance. "That's right. I've always liked younger guys. You know that perfectly well. Oh, right, you're practically a fossil now. Don't push me, I have zero interest in old men."

Preston wasn't even thirty yet. He was hardly old.

Jillian sighed inwardly. What the hell was wrong with these two? They completely lost the ability to speak like normal human beings the second they saw each other.

"So this is how you seduce people now?"

"My life is none of your damn business." Mallory tried to yank her arm free. "If you can parade around your little girlfriends, why can't I have my fun with younger guys?"

Terrified the room was getting the wrong idea, Jillian quickly whispered an explanation. "It's just a joke, please don't take it seriously."

Preston stared dead at Mallory, glaring at her like a sworn enemy he was destined to hate for the rest of his life.

Suddenly, he yanked her even harder, dragging her toward the door. "Didn't you say you wanted to go to a hotel last time? Fine. Let's go right now."

Mallory thrashed wildly, screaming at the top of her lungs, "Preston, you bastard, let me go! You make me sick!"

Preston completely ignored her struggles, determined to haul her out of the room.

Jillian obviously wasn't going to let him kidnap her friend. She stepped in to block his path.

Blinded by rage, Preston didn't even look as he swung his arm out, violently shoving Jillian to the floor.

Jillian crashed hard into the edge of the table, letting out a pained gasp.

A storm of complex emotions swirled in his bloodshot eyes. He shot Mallory one last vicious glare, spun around, and stormed out.

However, he was clearly drunk. He stumbled unsteadily as he lurched down the stairs.

Mallory hesitated for a split second before actually sprinting out after him.

Jillian rubbed her throbbing temples. What on earth were these two psychopaths doing?

With Mallory gone, Jillian was left completely alone to deal with the fallout.

She frantically apologized to Harlan and his group, promising to buy them dinner to make up for the disaster.

Harlan didn't seem too bothered. After exchanging polite goodbyes with Jillian, he gathered his friends and left.

Jillian then tracked down the manager, offering to pay for the damages. Since Mallory was a regular with a massive prepaid balance on her account, the manager assured Jillian it was already handled.

Once she finally smoothed everything over, Jillian turned to thank Leon.
