The Ex-Wife He Can’t Have novel Chapter 151

Eleanor Quincy soon found out what happened at Silas Xavier's birthday banquet.

Someone had secretly recorded a video at the scene, but Killian Quincy had exerted his influence afterward to suppress any possibility of the clips being leaked.

Of course, he couldn't keep this from Eleanor; she found out anyway.

The weather was clear and sunny that day as Killian brought Connor Quincy to visit the old lady.

Eleanor leaned back in her recliner, resting.

"Why didn't Jillian come?"

"She's staying with her mother," Killian replied, his tone indifferent as he slowly and methodically peeled an apple.

Eleanor pursed her lips, a trace of disgust in her voice.

"After causing such a humiliating scene, she shouldn't have the nerve to show her face at the Quincy estate anyway. It's for the best. Let her cool off out there for a while. Honestly, even an old woman like me feels embarrassed by this. You should have stopped her back then. You never should have let her make a fool of herself at that banquet."

Killian didn't stop peeling the apple. "I didn't know she was going."

Eleanor cast him a helpless look. She knew perfectly well that Killian didn't even like Jillian Jarrett and never meddled in her personal affairs, so naturally, he wouldn't have known in advance.

"Great-Grandma, what happened?" Connor suddenly asked, tilting his little face upward.

"What else could it be? Your mother embarrassed the Quincy family again," Eleanor sighed softly.

Connor blinked. He didn't know the specific details, but upon returning to the old estate this time, he had heard the servants whispering, and the way the elders looked at him was particularly strange.

He vaguely guessed it had something to do with his mother.

Since summer break started, Jillian rarely came back. Most days, it was Mrs. Zeller who accompanied him while he read and played.
