Stella finished her figure skating routine, and Jillian kept the camera raised, fully focused on capturing every single move. A proud, warm smile touched her lips, completely oblivious to Connor's resentful stare burning into her from a short distance away.

After the performance, Stella changed into her school uniform and walked over to Jillian.

Jillian affectionately wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Are you tired?"

Stella shook her head gently. "Not at all."

"My girl is so amazing. You did incredibly well today." Jillian added gently, "You've always gone to school overseas, so switching to a local school means you'll need time to adapt with your new classmates. No matter what bothers you, you have to tell Mom, okay?"

Stella nodded vigorously. "I got it, don't worry, Mom. And if you ever feel upset about something, you can tell me too."

Daniel stood nearby, chuckling playfully. "You two are more like sisters than mother and daughter. It's so sweet."

A curious classmate nearby pointed a finger at Daniel and Jillian, asking, "Hey new girl, are those your mom and dad?"

Stella immediately wrapped her arms tighter around Jillian's arm, stating clearly, "This is my mom."

Jillian and Daniel shared a glance but didn't bother explaining further, brushing it off as an innocent childhood question.

Once the opening ceremony wrapped up, Jillian decided to take Stella to see her new classroom first.

With her daughter starting in a completely new environment, she wanted to stay close to help her adjust to campus life as quickly as possible.

Holding Stella's hand as they walked, Jillian suddenly heard a voice call out from behind, laced with frustration. "Mom."

Jillian stopped dead in her tracks and whipped around instantly. But the school entrance was a sea of moving students and parents, and there was absolutely no sign of Connor anywhere.

"What is it?" Daniel asked, stepping up beside her.

"I don't know. I must have misheard."

Daniel had also faintly heard the little boy's call, but it was an unfamiliar voice. He gently reassured her, "You've probably just been worrying about Connor so much that you're hearing things."
