The Ex-Wife He Can’t Have novel Chapter 238

"I'll come to you."

"I said, I don't have time." Killian's tone took on an edge of impatience.

"Just thirty minutes," Jillian insisted firmly. "I won't stay a second longer, and I won't disrupt your work."

Killian's grip on his fountain pen tightened. He took a deep breath, suppressing the irritation rising in his chest. "Come during the lunch break. I'm giving you exactly thirty minutes. Once the time is up, I'll have you thrown out."

The moment he finished speaking, the busy signal of a hung-up call echoed from the speaker.

Killian stared at the black screen of the phone, a flicker of fury passing through his eyes.

In all these years, this was the first time someone had dared to hang up on him first.

As noon approached, Killian was about to have Nate arrange lunch when his phone suddenly rang. It was Sienna Sterling.

Sienna said she had been shopping with friends all morning and happened to pass by Quincy Group, so she planned to come up and sit for a bit.

Killian didn't refuse.

Learning that his mother, Sienna, was coming, the entire secretariat sprang into action.

Nate specifically ordered premium takeout from a high-end restaurant and personally went downstairs to escort Sienna up.

Sienna arrived dressed in elegant, wealthy attire. Wearing stilettos and flawless makeup, her long hair was pinned up elegantly.

The jewelry sparkling on her neck and ears, along with a massive diamond ring on her finger, gave her a commanding presence.

Stepping into the office, she casually took off her coat and sank lazily onto the sofa. "I've been shopping all morning. My feet are killing me."

Nate quickly hurried over, respectfully serving a cup of hot tea.

"Have you had lunch?" Killian asked flatly.

"Not yet. Let's eat together," Sienna replied casually. She seemed warm, but there was an underlying distance in her tone.

The mother and son ate their meal together in a bland, silent atmosphere.

Neither initiated much conversation, focusing on their food. Occasionally, Sienna would ask a passing question, and Killian would offer a brief reply.
