Sienna wanted nothing more than to tell Jillian the truth and claim her as her daughter, but she knew she couldn't. Jillian's true identity had to remain an absolute secret.

Right now, Eleanor was letting Killian handle the divorce however he saw fit.

But if Jillian's lineage ever came to light, Eleanor would immediately force Killian to end the marriage. And if that happened, Sienna's own position within the Quincy family would instantly crumble.

All the buried secrets and ancient scandals would be dragged out into the open, and she simply couldn't survive the fallout.

"I... I can't say," Sienna murmured, her posture growing even more submissive, her voice trembling with desperation. "I'm just begging you, don't divorce Killian. Do it for Con. Let the boy grow up with an intact family."

Jillian found the whole display ridiculous and completely bizarre.

By this point, Daniel had already opened the car door for her. Jillian slid into the passenger seat, locked the door, and Daniel drove them out of the parking garage.

Once Jillian's car had safely merged onto the street, Daniel paused before pulling his own car out. He rolled his window down and looked at Sienna, who was still standing exactly where they had left her.

"Ms. Sterling, this little plea of yours today... did you come up with that on your own, or did Killian put you up to this?" he asked, his voice low and guarded.

"It was my own idea."

Sienna looked up at Daniel. All her previous hostility and prejudice toward him were completely gone. Instead, her eyes held a strange, heavy gratitude that Daniel couldn't begin to understand.

Stripped of all the bitter history and animosity, right now, Sienna just looked like a gentle, caring mother figure.

The sudden shift in demeanor left Daniel deeply unsettled, but he simply gave her a curt nod and drove off.

As twilight settled over the city, Sienna watched their cars disappear into the distance. The tension finally drained out of her body, and she let out a long, shaky breath.

She was consumed by guilt.
