After resting at home for a few days, Sylvia officially embarked on her trip, setting her first destination at The Alpine Heights Resort.
The day before her flight, she dialed Killian's number.
"I'm heading to the airport tomorrow. Are you coming to see me off?"
Glancing at his schedule, Killian agreed easily. "I'll be there."
"I knew it! I'm going to be gone for so long, you couldn't possibly let me leave without saying goodbye," she teased playfully.
"Don't worry. I'll see you there."
After hanging up, Sylvia flopped back onto her bed with a smug grin. She opened a messaging app and fired off a text to a contact: Proceed with the plan tomorrow exactly as discussed.
The next morning, Sylvia arrived early at Metro City International Airport. Madeline Xavier, Silas Xavier, Gibson Xavier, and the rest of her family were all there to see her off.
Sylvia wore a remarkably chic yet understated outfit, her hair swept into a loose, elegant low bun, her makeup flawlessly natural.
Gibson looked at her in surprise. "It's just a flight for a vacation. Did you really need to get this dressed up?"
Madeline chuckled, smoothing things over. "Our Sylvia is naturally gorgeous. Why shouldn't she look her best when she travels?"
"Exactly, Gibson. It's called The Airport-Chic Look. You wouldn't understand," Sylvia joked with a bright laugh.
While the family chatted and laughed, several professional photographers, along with lighting assistants and makeup artists, orbited the group, snapping pictures from every angle.
Gibson furrowed his brow. "Did you hire these people?"
Sylvia nodded without a hint of shame. "Sure did."
Gibson wasn't a stranger to this behavior.
