Jillian walked out of the private room, headed to the front desk, and handed her card to the staff, instructing them to put all the room's expenses on her tab.
Just then, a voice called out, "Hey, Jillian."
Jillian turned and saw Sebastian Shaw.
He was flanked by his manager and bodyguards. He had a baseball cap pulled low and was dressed in a sleek, all-black street-style outfit, looking exactly like a trendy young icon.
Seeing Jillian, Sebastian was visibly thrilled, his voice instinctively rising. "Jillian! What are you doing here? I was just about to call you."
His manager quickly hushed him. The club was highly private, but there was always a risk someone would recognize him and take photos.
"You were going to call me? What for?" Jillian asked with an amused smile.
"To ask you out to dinner, obviously! I've asked you out so many times and you keep rejecting me. My ego is completely bruised," Sebastian said, his tone carrying a pouty, flirtatious whine.
"I've just been slammed with work. And aren't you about to join the cast for your new movie? Our schedules don't line up. Maybe some other time."
"You even knew I was joining the cast? Have you been secretly keeping tabs on me?"
Jillian paused, then sighed helplessly. Sebastian's new movie role had been trending endlessly, and his fans had launched massive promotional campaigns. The news was everywhere; it was impossible not to know.
"I haven't," she said.
"It's fine, it's fine." Sebastian was completely unbothered, stepping right into her personal space and lightly touching her arm. "I'm a very good listener. I'll do whatever you say. Jillian, you have to admit you like me at least a little bit."
Jillian couldn't help but laugh softly.
She saw right through him. Sebastian was a spoiled prodigy who had shot to fame at a young age. Everyone around him catered to his every whim, making him inevitably a bit cocky and self-centered.
"Since we ran into each other, let me buy you dinner?"
"I've already eaten. I'm not hungry."
"Then let me buy you a drink."
"I'm an awful drunk. I cause a scene when I'm intoxicated."
Sebastian grinned. "I'm not scared!"
