The Ex-Wife He Can’t Have novel Chapter 405

"I'm being completely serious," Bash said, stepping a half-pace closer, genuine admiration in his eyes. "This Garden of Eden Ruby Collection I'm wearing? It matches your vibe perfectly. It would look a million times better on you than it does on me."

The complete set included a necklace, brooch, bracelet, and earrings, but Bash was only modeling the brooch and bracelet tonight.

"You really have your job ingrained in your bones, don't you? Trying to pitch me a sale right to my face?" Jillian teased.

"I swear I'm not trying to sell it to you. I just genuinely think it suits you."

Under the warm ambient light, Jillian glanced at the ruby brooch pinned to his chest. It truly was a stunning piece of craftsmanship.

She subtly pointed a finger at a highly intimidating, wealthy woman standing a few yards away. "If you want to hit your sales quota, go talk to her. She's the one with the real purchasing power."

Bash let out a helpless laugh. "I promise, I'm really not trying to push a sale."

Jillian just smiled and turned back to converse with the people around her.

A few days later, Jillian found her name trending on The Viral Feed.

It turned out someone had secretly recorded a video of her and Bash at the dinner and uploaded it online.

The clip was barely thirty seconds long, showing them dancing close together before she glanced down at his brooch.

The original intent of the person who posted it was to mock top-tier celebrities, showing that despite their glamorous facades, they still had to grovel to wealthy socialites in private to hustle jewelry.

But because of the odd camera angle and the moody lighting, the entire interaction looked incredibly intimate and seductive.

Almost instantly, a flood of wild rumors and gossip consumed the internet.

Someone leaked that a 'top-tier sugar mama' had dropped thirty million dollars on jewelry just to support Bash, crediting the massive purchase entirely to his sales quota.

Bash was already a controversial figure who thrived on drama and high traffic. The moment the rumor spread, malicious speculation exploded across the internet.
