Sienna had fully intended to walk away, but his words made her pause. She turned back to look at him, looking as though she wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.

Sean watched her patiently.

A moment later, Sienna averted her eyes, shoved him aside with her elbow even more forcefully, and marched out the door.

Outside, a light drizzle had begun to fall.

Sienna hurried to The Yale Residences, where a maid opened the door and ushered her inside.

She walked briskly into the living room and called out, "Killian."

Killian was already sitting on the sofa. Seeing her arrive in the rain, he furrowed his brow but didn't stand up. "What are you doing here?"

Clutching her tote bag, Sienna explained softly, "A while ago you mentioned that Jillian was in the hospital for surgery. I saw her there once, and she'd lost a lot of weight. She looked terrible. I asked a friend to track down some premium Wild American Ginseng. I need you to pass it on to her so she can get her health back on track."

"She won't accept it. Don't waste your time." Killian looked away, his tone indifferent.

"I know she wouldn't take it if she knew it was from me." Sienna sat down beside him, her voice bordering on pleading. "Just make up an excuse. Tell her it's from Connor because he's worried about his mom and wants her to get better. She definitely won't say no to that."

Killian still didn't look up, his eyes glued to his laptop screen. "You should probably leave right now. Jillian is upstairs."

Hearing that Jillian was upstairs sent Sienna into a minor panic. She nervously smoothed her hair. "I didn't know. I should have called before I came. I'll just leave this here. Don't tell her it's from me, and don't even tell her I was here..."

Just then, Killian's ears twitched, and his expression shifted slightly.

Sienna immediately sensed that something was wrong and instinctively turned around.

Standing quietly at the landing of the stairs, gripping the banister, was Jillian. Her eyes were filled with shock as she stared intently at the two of them in the living room.
