Killian completely withdrew from the Kyber Systems acquisition, stepping back from any further interference.

While a few of the original founding members chose to resign, the rest of the core team willingly stayed on board, fully cooperating with Jillian's restructuring plans.

She balanced her regular duties at Langley Group while systematically mapping out the future of her new venture.

In her office, Jillian issued cool, precise instructions over the phone. "I need you to head to Hartford next week for an on-the-ground assessment of their business environment. I've done the research—they have specialized support policies for emerging tech startups that perfectly align with our direction. Take detailed notes on the metrics and report back to me."

"Are you planning to relocate the company to Hartford?" the person on the other end asked.

Jillian hesitated for a second. "It's on the table, but I haven't made a final decision yet."

"If the company moves to Hartford, you'll be quite far from your family in Metro City. You'd practically have to live there full-time."

"That's exactly why I'm still thinking about it."

Jillian pinched the bridge of her nose. Given the business climate and the company's overhead, relocating really was a tempting option.

Most importantly, it would put a massive distance between her, Killian, and the rest of his family.

As long as they weren't in constant contact, Killian would eventually have no choice but to sign the divorce papers.

However, she also had to factor in the reality of Connor's schooling and his upcoming competitions.

Hanging up the phone, she heard a knock. Her assistant walked in. "Ms. Jarrett, you have a delivery."

"Just leave it on the desk."

The assistant looked hesitant and gestured toward the door. Two delivery men walked in carrying an absolutely massive, extravagant bouquet of flowers.

"Ms. Jarrett, your flowers. Please sign here."

Jillian looked totally bewildered. "For me? Who sent them?"

"There's a card attached. You can take a look."

Jillian dug through the sprawling layers of petals and pulled out the small card. The message was incredibly simple: I hope you're happy every single day.

The signature was just one word: Bash.

Bash?

Looking at the fiery, stunning red roses that now swallowed her entire coffee table, Jillian couldn't help but let out a breathless, exasperated laugh.
