Wrapping up her trip to Hartford and returning to Metro City, Jillian dove straight into days of grueling back-to-back work before finally initiating contact with Bash. "Can you get any time off lately? I want to introduce you to someone."
About a week later, Jillian booked an exclusive, highly private room at an upscale business lounge.
That night, Bash arrived decked out entirely in black, attempting to stay under the radar, though the dark clothing only made his striking build that much more obvious. "Who are you introducing me to?"
"Because of me, you lost out on that previous endorsement. This time, I managed to score you a pitch for a major tech brand. Of course, whether you actually land the deal is entirely on you." Jillian led him into the VIP suite.
By the time the meeting wrapped up, Mr. Sterling was the first to excuse himself. It was incredibly obvious he was thrilled with Bash's look and brand, actively instructing Bash's management to hash out the final details.
The two of them escorted Mr. Sterling down to the lobby, watching his car pull away into the night. Jillian turned to him. "I'll forward you his contact info. Have your team handle the rest of the negotiations."
Bash, however, looked visibly deflated. "What is this supposed to mean? Now it feels like the only reason I'm hanging around you is to milk you for resources."
"That is absolutely not how I see it," Jillian clarified. "His new line is entirely targeted at young trendsetters. Your look and fanbase are a perfect match. I simply connected the dots. Consider it a favor among friends."
Bash nodded sulkily. "Fine. Whatever Jill says goes. I'll listen to you."
The incredibly intimate nickname caused Jillian's brow to twitch, and she shot him a warning glare.
Bash completely ignored it, flashing a goofy, lovesick grin like a giant, clingy golden retriever.
Just as they turned back toward the lounge, Jillian suddenly felt a violently cold gaze lock onto her spine.
She snapped her head toward the grand staircase. Killian was standing a few steps up, glaring down at them with absolute ice. His arm was securely wrapped around Sylvia's waist.
