Seeing Jillian hesitate, Sean immediately seized the opportunity. "Let's just grab a quick bite and chat. I have some information you'll definitely be interested in."

Jillian frowned slightly, deep in thought.

She had fully intended to walk away, but Sean's solemn expression made her second-guess herself. What if he really held the missing pieces to a puzzle she knew nothing about?

After a moment's consideration, she relented. "Twenty minutes. Tops."

Sean nodded. "Don't worry, ten minutes is all I need."

They settled on a nearby, elegant Western restaurant with excellent privacy.

Sean sat across from Jillian, observing her for a moment before offering a faint smile. "Come to think of it, we should have met ten years ago. We may be father-in-law and daughter-in-law in name, but we've barely spoken. Lunch is on me today, consider it a small gesture from an elder."

Jillian raised her eyes, her gaze sweeping over him with an appraising look.

His attitude was far more amiable today than it had ever been, but this sudden bout of friendliness only set off alarm bells in her head.

"Just get to the point," Jillian said flatly.

Sean chuckled. "You know I've always wanted you and Killian to divorce. And now, there's a reason the two of you absolutely must separate..."

Meanwhile, back in Killian's office.

Caleb strode in quickly and reported in a hushed tone, "Boss, Jillian ran into your father downstairs. They went to a restaurant nearby together."

"Sean?" Killian looked up, his eyes instantly darkening.

Caleb nodded.

Killian stood up immediately, his steps purposeful. "Come with me."

Caleb quickly fell into step behind him.

As they exited the office, Nate, the standby assistant, habitually stepped forward to follow. Without looking back, Killian ordered coldly, "Nate, stay here."

Nate froze for a second before hastily replying, "Understood, Mr. Quincy."

He stood frozen in place, watching Killian and Caleb disappear into the elevator.

Back at the restaurant, a waiter approached with their drinks, cutting Sean off mid-sentence.

He paused, waiting until the waiter was out of earshot before lowering his head with a soft sigh.
