Over the next period, Jillian threw herself entirely into her work.
In the blink of an eye, two weeks passed, and Jillian found herself back in Hartford.
The preliminary inspections were over. Next, she had to decide on the specific location for the new company and figure out how to relocate her employees. She also needed to apply for municipal tax incentives in advance.
While the tech park was specifically designed to attract high-tech enterprises, it was massive. Jillian personally handled these tasks, bringing her assistant along to inspect the conditions of various office buildings on foot.
The door of a Maybach slammed shut with a heavy thud.
Zach leaned toward Killian. "What do you think? Hartford has developed quite nicely over the past few years, hasn't it? The latest The Regional Economic Development Forum is being held right here in Hartford. And I have to thank you for doing me this favor."
Zach's family's new factory was based in Hartford.
This year's economic forum had invited companies from several neighboring cities, but they were still missing a heavy-hitting, heavyweight tycoon to anchor the event.
Relying on his personal connections, Zach had managed to invite Killian.
Killian was a golden goose in the eyes of local governments everywhere. His attendance at the forum earned him immense respect from the city of Hartford.
After all, the Quincy family's business empire was colossal. If he was treated well during this visit, there was a high chance he might open a branch or factory in Hartford, which would massively boost local employment and revenue.
Therefore, the scale of this reception was unprecedented. Zach accompanied him every step of the way.
Zach was just about to urge the driver to start the car when he caught a glimpse of a woman's blurry silhouette walking toward them through the window.
Although he couldn't see her face clearly, his male intuition told him she was stunning, with a phenomenal figure, and he couldn't help but narrow his eyes in appreciation.
As the figure drew closer, Zach finally realized the person in front of them looked exactly like Jillian.
Killian recognized her too, his expression turning cold.
"Why is she here?" Zach muttered, feeling a pang of disappointment. If it had been anyone else, he might have shot his shot, but with Jillian, it was a hard pass.
He knew perfectly well what lines he could cross and which ones he couldn't.
"Holy shit!" Zach suddenly yelped. "Killian, she didn't chase you all the way here, did she? Did she realize the cooling-off period is more than half over, panic that you really don't want her anymore, and track you down just to beg for forgiveness?"
"Do you want to roll down the window and drain the water out of your brain?" Killian deadpanned.
"Am I wrong? Well, even better if I am," Zach rambled, then quickly added, "Drive, hurry up, before that leech sticks to us."
