Connor wasn't the type of child to throw unreasonable tantrums. Having known for years that his parents' relationship was strained, he slowly let his mother comfort him.

Stella took the initiative to bring out some toys and play with him.

As night fell, Bash drove over.

It was his first time visiting Jillian's house and his first time meeting her family. He looked nervous yet full of anticipation, and he brought gifts for everyone.

Even though Judith and Lydia had reservations about such a young man, they maintained their basic manners and welcomed him warmly.

Bash greeted them nervously, "Hello, Mrs. Jarrett. Hello, Great-Nana."

He handed over the health supplements he had brought for them, and Judith took them with a smile.

Jillian then led Bash into the living room, while Lydia tugged on Judith's arm.

"How does he look even younger than on TV? He still looks wet behind the ears. Is he dependable?"

"I agree. Men need to be mature and experienced to be reliable. But Jill likes him, so what can we do?"

The two muttered back and forth before falling silent as they entered the living room.

Jillian led Bash to the children's playroom.

Bash proactively greeted them.

Stella recognized him, her eyes practically turning into stars. "I know you. You're that huge star, Bash. I have a classmate who is completely obsessed with you."

"Your classmate likes me? How old is she?"

"She's ten! She even said she's going to marry you when she grows up."

"Well, she can forget about marrying me. I already have someone I like."

Bash shot a smug glance at Jillian as he spoke, but Jillian just smiled and ignored him.

Connor, standing off to the side, looked completely displeased. He pressed his lips tightly together and refused to say a word.

Noticing him, Bash pulled out the toy he had brought—a video game console.

Connor stubbornly refused to take it, forcing Jillian to smooth things over. "Con has too many game consoles. He owns every model on the market, so he's probably bored of them by now."

Bash didn't seem to mind. He gestured toward the door for Jillian to step out. "It's fine. He's just a young boy. I'll play a few rounds with him, is that alright?"

Jillian felt a little uneasy.

"Don't you trust me?" Bash said, manually pushing Jillian out into the hallway and shutting the door.

Soon, the sounds of intense gaming battles drifted out from the room.

Jillian had still been a bit worried, but by the time dinner rolled around, she noticed Connor was no longer acting so awkward.

Stella was chattering away next to them, apparently praising how exceptionally good Bash was at video games and how well he and Connor got along.

Once dinner was over, it was time for Bash to leave. It was hard enough for him to sneak out, and he had to be careful to avoid the paparazzi.

Jillian walked him to the door.

The night had already fallen heavily, and the evening breeze carried a bleak, chilling edge as it brushed against them.

Wearing a cozy knit cardigan, Jillian hugged her arms.

"Alright, you should go. I won't walk you any further."

She was just about to turn around when Bash suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

Caught off guard, Jillian stumbled right into his chest. By the time she reacted, Bash's face was right up against hers, the tip of his tall nose brushing against hers.
