Chapter 150
Chapter 150

Two officials from the Animal Health Bureau swiftly made their way through the crowd and stopped right in front of Claire.
One of them, with a serious look, held up an official document and talked in a clear voice.
He said. “Ms. Claire Summer, the FlashVax Vaccine, for which you are the lead developer, has been found in our inspection to fail several critical safety indicators required by the Regulations on Veterinary Drugs and related technical standards.
“It is hereby legally ordered to be immediately suspended from all sales and use.”
The other official spoke up, his tone absolutely firm. “Please cooperate and come with us right now to help us confirm a few details.”
The once bustling hall fell completely silent in an instant.
Claire’s face was filled with disbelief. “What do you mean? When did this happen?
“Are you sure this isn’t a mistake?”
The official turned the document to face her, his tone calm and clear.
He said, “We don’t make mistakes when it comes to something this important.
“The content is very clear. The active ingredients in the FlashVax Vaccine you developed are almost identical to those in PawGuard, which was previously found unqualified. Yet, it still managed to pass every test during the approval process.”
His expression stayed stern. “If you think there’s been a mistake, please come back with us to assist with the investigation. Getting to the bottom of this quickly is best for you and the public, and honestly, it’s the fastest way to clear everything up.”
Claire could clearly feel the shocked stares from the school officials, front-row guests, and all the students-every glance locked onto her, so intense it almost felt real.
Even the host was caught off guard by the sudden drama, standing there dumbstruck and forgetting all about smoothing things over.
In that moment, Claire felt like the whole hall had frozen; she was completely exposed, cheeks scorching with shame.
She closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, and then murmured urgently to the officials, “Alright, let’s go. Don’t take the main door.”
With her head down and cheeks burning, Claire trailed behind the officials, hurrying out beneath a storm of awkward, judgmental stares.
With the welcome ceremony in full swing, tons of local reporters from Jelasburg crowded the place.
The journalists spotted a breaking story in an instant. Cameras popped up everywhere, firing off like crazy at Claire’s awkward exit.
All eyes zeroed in on Claire as she hurried away, while all the freshmen whispered nonstop, their gossip echoing through
the hall.
“What’s happening? Who are those guys?”
“Wasn’t she about to go on stage? Why is she getting taken away?”
Just then, someone in the crowd suddenly shouted, “Guys, check your phones. There’s a news alert-the FlashVax Vaccine has just been suspended right after launch.”

“What happened? Did something go wrong with the vaccine?”

“It says the formula’s almost a carbon copy of PawGuard, you know, the one that didn’t pass inspection, but somehow it still got approved.”
“No way. Isn’t Summer Veterinary Group a nationwide chain? How could this even happen?”
Even the government officials seated up front were frowning now, one of them turning to Wilfred. “What’s going on here?”
Wilfred was completely baffled. As the buzz of whispers kept rising, he frantically pulled out his phone.
As soon as he read that headline, his face went ghostly pale. Under his breath, he stammered, “No way. This can’t be real.
“Summer Veterinary Group is a nationwide chain. How could there be a problem with their vaccine?”
Spencer glanced at the news on his phone, feeling his heart drop, but he managed to stay calm and quickly got things moving again, signaling for the second freshman rep to step up and keep the ceremony rolling.
The teacher in charge of the ceremony hurried over to the two principals, voice low and anxious. “We’ve got a mess on our hands.
“We told the government officials ahead of time that the Department of Veterinary Medicine would have an outstanding student speak, and that speech was supposed to be the highlight of our recruitment promo to show off how strong our program is.
“Now that Claire has suddenly left, we’re missing one person to give the speech. How are we supposed to explain this to
them?”
Spencer scanned the room and caught sight of Nina, sitting quietly in the audience.
He strode over, voice earnest. “Nina, you’re one of our standout alumni in veterinary medicine. Things are hectic-could you jump in and help us smooth things over?”
Nina blinked, surprised. “What?”
Spencer leaned in, giving her a reassuring smile. “You spoke at the Global Veterinary Conference-compared to that, a welcome ceremony like this should be a breeze for you, right?”
He lowered his voice, smiling. “As long as you help out, we will spotlight your speech as a model for our alumni,
“Plus, we’ll give you a private dorm on campus-completely free utilities-so you can drop by anytime for your research.
“So, how about it?”
Nina’s eyes lit up in a flash.
She said, “Seriously? That’s such a sweet deal. When can I get the dorm key?
“Ah, I mean, it’s my honor to contribute to the school. I’ll give it my best shot.”
Wilfred immediately frowned, protesting. “No way.
“She’s not prepared for anything, and she’s dressed way too casually. She doesn’t even have a speech written. Sending her on stage like this could completely mess up the welcome ceremony.”
Wilfred waved his hands anxiously, “All the major media from Jelasburg are here.”
Spencer kept his cool and patted Wilfred’s shoulder gently. “Seriously, what else can we do right now? We can’t just leave everyone hanging, can we?

“Anyway, I trust Nina to handle it.”
He grinned with obvious confidence in his top student. “If anything goes south, I’ll take the heat.”

Then, with a mischievous glint in his eye, Spencer leaned in and said to Wilfred in a hushed tone, “If Nina absolutely wows everyone up there, that dorm room has to go to her.”
Wilfred was left at a loss for words. He turned to glance at Nina sitting behind him, and couldn’t help but press a palm to his forehead, sighing in exasperation.
“I just can’t understand why you’re all talking about her,” he muttered.
After the two student reps wrapped up their speeches, the host’s voice boomed across the hall, full of excitement: “Next, let’s welcome our final and most anticipated speaker.
“A truly remarkable alum, owner of Forest Isle Zoo, and winner of the National Outstanding Young Veterinarian Award-
Nina Summer.”
The crowd immediately burst into curious chatter.
“Nina? That name rings a bell. Who is she?”
“Isn’t she the senior who teamed up with a bunch of stray cats to catch that thief?”
“Whoa, it’s her. That award’s only ever gone to two people nationwide-and she actually snagged one.”
“We’ve got such a superstar in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, and no one ever hyped her up until now.”
“Yeah. On orientation day, everyone was just raving about how awesome Claire was, and I honestly thought we’d never find anyone else who could measure up.”
