Chapter 179 Monkey Helps

Nina’s heart skipped a beat. “The back gate of the zoo is on fire?”

The little sparrow flapped its wings anxiously, leading the way. “The staff lady already called 911!”

Nina immediately pressed the walkie-talkie and spoke rapidly, “Attention all staff! Initiate emergency evacuation for the area near the back gate-get the visitors and animals out first!”

Quentin’s brow furrowed as he kept pace with her, dialing quickly and saying curtly, “Get the trucks here. Now.”

He gripped Shadow’s leash tighter and, together with Nina, rushed after the little sparrow toward the blaze.

“How bad is the fire? Where did it start?” Nina called out as she ran.

The little sparrow chirped frantically, wings beating fast. “It’s the biggest tree in the forest section! It’s not that big yet!”

But instead of easing Nina’s worry, that second sentence made her heart sink.

The trees in Forest Isle Zoo grew dense and close, with their canopies forming an almost unbroken blanket overhead.

If the fire spread, the whole forest area would turn into a raging inferno in no time. Even worse, all that thick smoke could blanket the entire zoo in seconds.

Besides, this patch of woods behind the back gate was where the zoo’s semi-free-roaming Capuchin Monkeys called home. If the whole thing burned down, where would they even crash?

Nina dashed to the back gate of Forest Isle Zoo, but what she saw next made her stomach drop.

A massive tree was already blazing, flames climbing up and tearing through the nearby treetops, threatening to turn the whole place into a full-blown inferno.

And to make things worse, tons of tourists were still hanging around. Instead of running for safety, they were busy filming the fire on their phones, treating the whole mess like some free entertainment.

Quentin’s expression turned icy as he gave Shadow’s back a quick pat.

Shadow instantly got the message, lifting his head and unleashing a deep, menacing growl that sent a chill down everyone’ s spine.

Startled by the sudden warning, the tourists snapped out of their trance and scattered in all directions, finally realizing just how dangerous the situation was.

Yet even as chaos raged, some reporters held their ground right at the scene, livestreaming with exaggerated flair. “Guys, you seeing this?

“Day one of Forest Isle Zoo’s big event and bam-fire breaks out! Is this just bad luck, or is there something fishy going on here?”

The livestream chat exploded with all sorts of snarky comments.

[Hosting an event, and the place catches fire? Guess the future here really sucks!]

[Bet they’ve done something shady-looks like even the heavens can’t stand them anymore.]

[My god, why are these folks still gawking instead of running? Move it already!]

Under Nina’s watch, Forest Isle Zoo never cut corners on fire safety. She and her crew were already at the scene, armed with fire extinguishers and ready to fight the blaze.

But that burning tree was easily over thirty feet tall, with flames tearing through the treetop canopy. Down on the ground, they were practically powerless to stop it.

If they waited around for the fire trucks and those ladder rigs to get here, the flames would already engulf the entire zoo in a catastrophic blaze.

They had to get the fire under control right now-no second chances.

Liam, clutching a fire extinguisher, his brow furrowed, said, “Ms, Summer, looks like it’s time for the ultimate move.”

Nina made the call without a second thought. “We need Capuchin Monkeys to step up and save the day!”

She instantly phoned the control room. “Hurry! Blast the capuchins’ mealtime anthem!”

Moments later, the stadium speakers burst to life, filling the air with that iconic, energetic theme.

The Capuchin Monkeys were the most chill cr Successfully unlocked!ture blocky faces, they looked as goofy and

laid-back as their personalities.

Forest Isle Zoo set them up with a semi-free-range lifestyle.

By day, they hung out all over the park and loved messing around with visitors; at noon, they’d hustle back to their turf for lunch, and at night, they clocked in right on time for lights out.

Whenever feeding hour rolled around, the zoo blasted their dinner anthem to signal it was chow time for Capuchin Monkey and his gang.

When that classic, high-energy, and super nostalgic tune blasted out over the park’s loudspeakers, everyone went absolutely speechless.

The reporter, still streaming the chaos, looked totally lost. “Wait, the zoo’s burning down, and they’re dropping party music? What’s even going on right now?”

The livestream chat exploded instantly.

[This soundtrack with the fire is a whole mood-like, ‘house is blazing and I’m just vibing.’ Legendary chill!]

[They’re holding fire extinguishers, so why aren’t they up in that tree fighting the blaze? What’s with just standing around?]

[You think it’s that easy? Go climb that tree yourself!]

[Seriously, how does a tree that tall just burst into flames out of nowhere? Something’s definitely fishy here.]

Just as everyone was scratching their heads, a wave of cheerful, monkeyish squeaks echoed across the park.

Sure enough, the Capuchin Monkeys came pouring in-some dashing out of the forest trails, others swinging effortlessly between treetops, vines in hand.

Each one had that unmistakable ‘finally off work, time to chow down!’ joy plastered all over their faces.

“Heck yeah! Dinner time, dinner time!” one of them chattered, unable to contain his excitement.

“Patrolling the park all morning, and now it’s chow break already? Life is just too sweet!” another grinned, stretching out his limbs.

“Wonder what tasty treats Ms. Summer’s got for us today!” someone else piped up, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

“Ever since Ms. Summer came on board, I’ve gotten way chunkier-she feeds us too well!”

“Time to demolish the hunger and bring back the real me! Let’s roll!”

Capuchin Monkeys were all happy.

But when the Capuchin Monkeys bounced back toward their usual dinner spot, expecting a feast like any other day, what they ran into was a scene straight out of a nightmare.

Gone were the mountains of fruit they’d been dreaming about-instead, two towering trees were raging with fire, black smoke pouring out and choking the clearing.

The whole squad froze in their tracks, stunned and silent.

The lead monkey’s paw suddenly went limp, and his banana dropped to the ground with a tiny “thud.”

The next second, the whole troop erupted in a chorus of panicked screeches.

“Holy crap! Why the heck is our home burning?”

“Ms. Summer! Our treehouse! Our hammocks!”

Amid the chaos, the Monkey King darted over to the keeper, grabbed a lightweight fire extinguisher in one slick move, and turned to face his crew-with a voice that cut through all the panic.
