The Fake Heiress and Her Purrfect Partner novel Chapter 65

**TITLE: Dreams Rise Again by Braxton**

**Chapter 65**

Nina stroked her chin thoughtfully, her mind racing with possibilities. ‘Which little creature would be the best choice to slip in and gather the intel I need?’ she pondered, her imagination igniting with ideas.

The Cuddle Critters Indoor Park was a hidden gem, nestled snugly on the fourth floor of a bustling office building. Nina had been captivated by the vibrant social media videos showcasing the park’s recent renovations, filled to the brim with an adorable array of small animals. The owners frequently kept the windows flung wide open, letting in the fresh air and the sounds of the city below.

A light bulb flickered in Nina’s mind. Perhaps sending in a little bird to scout the premises would be her best bet. ‘A bird can flit about unnoticed and gather all the juicy details,’ she mused.

In an instant, her thoughts turned to Little Crow, the ever-energetic bird known for his sharp wit and resourcefulness. This little guy was a master at reading the room, always quick to adapt when circumstances shifted unexpectedly.

After a quick freshening up, Nina grabbed the gold chain she had impulsively purchased at the mall the previous night, her excitement bubbling over as she made her way to the park.

Standing beneath a towering birch tree adjacent to the giraffe enclosure, Nina waved the glimmering chain in the air, calling out, “Little Crow, are you around? I could really use your help!”

Moments later, a familiar figure emerged from the branches, his eyes sparkling with curiosity as he took in the shiny chain in Nina’s hand. With a swift flap of his wings, Little Crow swooped down, landing gracefully before her.

“Come on, come on, put it on me already!” he chirped playfully, stretching his neck in eager anticipation.

Nina chuckled as she carefully clasped the chain around his feathery neck, a sense of pride swelling within her.

“Not too shabby,” Little Crow remarked, flicking his neck with a flourish, clearly pleased with his new accessory.

“From now on, don’t call me Little Crow. You can call me Mr. Crow. Or even Boss Crow,” he declared with an air of confidence, inspired by the sight of wealthy humans strutting around in their gold chains and rings, commanding respect with their nicknames. Little Crow was determined to elevate his status.

Nina raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile dancing on her lips. “Wow, look at you, getting all fancy now?”

Little Crow nodded enthusiastically, his laughter bubbling over. “From this moment forward, I’m the richest bird in the entire zoo! I’m the tycoon of Forest Isle City!” He puffed his chest out, reveling in his newfound identity.

“And where do you keep your cash, huh? Are you planning to stash it in my safe?” Nina teased, her big, glamorous eyes sparkling with mischief.

“But if you keep all your bills in your nest and a wild storm rolls through, wouldn’t your cash just turn into mushy money soup?” she added, feigning concern with a playful glance.

Little Crow snapped to attention, his feathers ruffled as he switched into high-alert mode. “Whoa, major scam vibes!”

Nina couldn’t help but chuckle to herself. ‘This little guy is sharper than I thought,’ she mused.

Clasping her hands together, she leaned closer. “Mr. Crow, could you do me one more favor?”

With a dramatic flap of his wings, Little Crow struck a pose. “State your business!”

Nina crouched down, whispering her plans to him, her excitement palpable. After listening intently, Little Crow’s beady eyes twinkled with mischief. “And while you’re at it, get me another chain!”

Nina flashed an OK sign, her laughter spilling over. “Boss Crow, what kind of bling are you looking for this time?”

Little Crow tilted his head, deep in thought. “Something with a jade pendant—gotta bring in the money!”

Nina burst into laughter, shaking her head in disbelief. “Seriously, where did you even pick that up?”

Little Crow shrugged nonchalantly. “The tourists at the zoo have been blasting that catchy tune on their phones. It’s totally stuck in my head!”

“Leave it to me. I’ll have everything sorted today!” With that, he flapped his wings and took off into the sky. When it came to money, Nina knew she could always count on Mr. Crow.
