No matter how hard she pressed, the memory card felt completely jammed inside.
It wouldn't budge.
After wrestling with it for ages and exhausting every possible method, nothing worked.
Defeated, Queenie put the watch away.
She planned to find a professional watchmaker tomorrow to see if they could help.

Early the next morning, the very first thing on Queenie's agenda was to go out and extract that card from the watch.
However, just as she finished getting ready and was holding the watch, preparing to leave, the absolute plague of a man called her again.
She answered reluctantly, reminding herself that tonight was her grandfather's birthday dinner. If Zander refused to go with her, it would cause an inescapable uproar.
She swiped answer in pure irritation. "What is it?"
"Get ready, I'm coming to pick you up. We're going to Aurélle together to apologize to Mr. Zimmer."
Queenie found the request utterly absurd. "You're the one going to apologize. Why drag me into it?"
Zander immediately flared up. "Aren't you the one who caused this mess? If you had just stayed home like a good wife, would I be out here begging for forgiveness right now?!"
Queenie was about to bite back.
"If you don't cooperate, don't even think about me accompanying you home tonight!"
With that, he aggressively hung up the phone.
Queenie was so furious she nearly smashed her phone into the floor.
Gripping the device tightly, she took several deep breaths. Just endure it. Endure it a little longer. After tonight, it will all be over.
After hanging up, Zander headed toward the door with a thunderous expression.
Renata, who had overheard his call, quickly chased after him. "Zander, let me go with you."
Zander frowned. "I already told Queenie to come with me."
"I've conducted several employee mental health workshops for Aurélle, so I have a pretty good relationship with them. If you take me along, I might be able to put in a good word for you. Given my status as a psychological consultant, Mr. Zimmer might grant me some leniency."
Even though Renata had left early that day.
