The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 26

"You're right, Queenie. I shouldn't have doubted you. I should trust you. Let's just drop it. By the way, there's a charity gala tomorrow night. I need you to come with me."

"I'm busy."

"Well, then I might be too busy to attend your grandfather's birthday dinner next week."

Queenie shot him an icy glare.

Was this a threat?

He knew perfectly well that if she showed up to a family event alone, her grandfather would throw an absolute fit.

"Fine. I'll go."

Queenie relented.

Satisfied, Zander offered a fake, comforting smile before heading downstairs.

By the time he reached the living room, Marilyn and Simon had already left. Renata was sitting alone on the sofa, lost in thought.

"Come with me."

Zander dropped the cold command as he walked past her.

Renata followed him into the study.

The moment the door clicked shut, Zander slammed the photograph onto the desk. "Did you really think this was a smart move?"

"Are you accusing me of photoshopping this?"

"Who else would it be? You and I were the only ones who knew what happened last night. Suddenly, this picture magically appears at my house. You saw my sister was here and fabricated this to stir up drama and make her hate Queenie even more."

"You don't doubt the authenticity of the photo even a little bit?"

Zander slammed his hand on the desk, furious. "You expect me to believe Queenie is sneaking around with some guy? If this were any other day, maybe. But given the absolute chaos last night, she jumped out of a second-story window! How would she even have time to hook up with someone else?"

Renata clamped her mouth shut.

She couldn't exactly confess that she had swapped the drugs for an aphrodisiac, which directly led to the accidental hookup.

She decided to keep Queenie's loss of fidelity a secret for now.
