The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 49

Zander leaped to his feet in sheer excitement.

Queenie’s lips twitched, pulling into a faint, mocking curve that vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Pushing the Aurélle disaster out of her mind for a moment, she stood up alongside Zander to welcome the arrival of the supposedly legendary ‘Z’.

The door to the private room swung open, and a woman in her early thirties with thick black-rimmed glasses walked in.

She wore her hair in a blunt bob and was dressed in an unremarkable grayish-blue linen shirt paired with straight-leg black trousers.

The oversized glasses obscured nearly half her face, leaving only a pair of calm, steady eyes visible.

She wore zero makeup, had absolutely no jewelry on, and carried nothing but a simple laptop bag.

Her entire aura completely nailed the notoriously low-profile reputation of the real ‘Z’!

This was exactly how Zander had always pictured her.

Cool, collected, understated, and completely unpretentious.

He eagerly thrust his hand forward. “You must be ‘Z’! It’s an absolute honor to meet you. I’m Zander Calvert, CEO of Evermore Group.”

‘Z’ gave him a brief nod. “A pleasure.”

“Please, have a seat!”

Once ‘Z’ sat down, Renata immediately put on a show of deep familiarity. “Thank you so much for coming out of seclusion just for me. I’ll never forget this favor…”

“Don’t be silly, Renata. Others might not be able to get me out of the house, but for you, it just takes one word.”

‘Z’ pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she spoke.

Renata practically beamed with pride.

She had actually met this version of ‘Z’ around noon today.

And she knew perfectly well—this woman was a total fake.

No matter how much bureaucratic pull Simon Sinclair possessed, his influence couldn’t penetrate the high-stakes finance world.

But yesterday, he had promised to find a big-shot proxy investor to play the part and help her bluff her way through.

Renata figured that since no one had ever seen the real ‘Z’ anyway, as long as she claimed this woman was ‘Z’, then she was ‘Z’.
