The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 56

Seeing Renata lying beside him, he quickly scanned the room and shot up. "Where are we?"

"Zander, we're in a hotel."

Renata pressed herself against him affectionately.

"Why are we in a hotel?"

Zander's face tightened.

"You were so happy last night, you drank a lot. You were too drunk to go home, so your mother told me to bring you here to rest."

Zander stared at the hickey on her neck. "Did we, last night..."

Renata put on a shy expression. "Last night, we became a real married couple."

"Impossible!"

Zander immediately denied it. "I would never betray Queenie!"

In Zander's subconscious, as long as he and Renata hadn't crossed that final line, he hadn't cheated.

He had always convinced himself that letting her please him unilaterally was just part of his therapy.

"Zander, you need to listen to your heart. Face the fact that you are a normal man. Just because you don't react to Queenie doesn't mean you have no reaction to me, right?

You've always been very 'powerful' in front of me, haven't you?"

Renata tried to make him accept that they had definitely slept together.

Zander shook his head. "No, it can't be. I couldn't look at your face and sleep with you. I don't believe you. You're lying to me!"

Zander closed his eyes, forcing himself to remember what happened last night.

But his mind was completely blank.

Renata pressed closer again. "Zander, why would I lie about something like this? You've repressed yourself for so long. Maybe your conscious mind didn't want it, but your body was honest.

You don't even know how amazing you were. Last night, I was completely conquered by you..."

"Stop talking!"

Zander grabbed his hair in a panic, his face twisted with guilt and remorse.

After a long silence, he forced the words through gritted teeth, "You cannot breathe a single word of what happened last night to Queenie!"
