Zander was just about to bring a cup of coffee to his lips.
Hearing her words out of nowhere, he slammed the cup down on the table and snatched her phone away.
He clicked on the news alert. It was indeed a formal announcement from Viameda moving up their press conference.
His brows snapped together. Why is it happening today?
Freezing for two seconds, he hurriedly pulled out his own phone and texted "Z".
"Good morning, Z. I just saw that Viameda moved up their chip press conference. Did you get the news? Does this mean your funds will be unlocked today? If so, we can move our bond launch up as well."
After hitting send, he waited anxiously for her reply.
At that moment, Renata led Romy downstairs.
Ever since she "helped" Zander and spent that unspoken night with him.
Renata was practically glowing with triumph, strutting around as if she were already the lady of the house.
As soon as she hit the ground floor, she started bossing the nanny around. "Romy is going to be late for preschool. Hurry up and take her, and buy her some breakfast on the way."
The nanny respectfully took the child's hand. "Yes, Dr. Whitlock."
Once her daughter was gone, Renata smiled sweetly and walked over to Zander. "Zander, aren't you leaving for work yet? Your company's bonds launch tomorrow. Shouldn't you be busy today?"
Zander kept checking his phone. "Z" still hadn't replied.
Unable to wait any longer, he dialed her number directly.
The line gave a busy signal. It wouldn't connect.
He sent another message. "Are you busy right now?"
This time, the screen instantly popped up an alert: Message sent, but rejected by the recipient.
Zander's eyes widened in disbelief. He froze for a couple of seconds before abruptly snapping his head up. "Why did 'Z' block me?"
Renata was equally shocked. "How is that possible?"
She took his phone and saw that he really had been blocked.
