The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 65

Zander was stunned. Regaining his senses, he barked, "Queenie, what the hell are you do—"

Smack—

Before he could finish his sentence, a solid, resounding slap landed squarely on his cheek as well.

He had never seen her look so fiercely unyielding. His pupils widened in shock and unfamiliarity, his handsome features contorting. "Are you insane?! What the hell are you doing?!"

"If slapping you could knock some sense into your head, I'd gladly give you a few more. Am I the crazy one? You let a manipulative, vile woman run wild in our home. If you want to degrade yourself, fine, but at least have the decency to consider me!"

"This woman stirs up trouble in my house, yet comes and goes as she pleases. As the lady of this house, am I supposed to just stand by and watch? You don't even ask for my opinion. Am I just a prop to you?"

Faced with Queenie's righteous interrogation.

A flicker of guilt crossed Zander's eyes.

He forced himself to explain patiently. "Dr. Whitlock is at fault for the fake 'Z' situation, but her only crime was trying to help me and going about it the wrong way.

I didn't plan on bringing her back either, but look at how young Romy is. If those thugs really show up at their door, it would terrify the child..."

Sensing the mood, Romy began to cry on cue.

Queenie nodded. "Fine. Since you're so forgiving, since you have the heart of a saint and repay malice with kindness, I'll move out. I'll vacate this house for them. I'm petty and narrow-minded, and I refuse to forgive her for what she's done!"

Throwing down those absolute words.

She turned and headed upstairs.

She quickly packed her luggage without a shred of hesitation or reluctance, marching out of the bedroom resolutely.

When she returned downstairs, Zander was still standing in the exact same spot.

His brows were tightly knitted.
