The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 94

The next second, before anyone could react, she tightly hugged the stiff-faced man.

She quickly whispered something into his ear.

The already rigid man's pupils instantly dilated. His lips trembled, clearly caught completely off guard.

No one noticed Renata's subtle little move.

Not even Queenie, who was standing closest to them.

Renata let go of the man and turned around with a look of passionate gratitude. "Zander, this is Dennis. He's the man who saved my life! Back when I fell into the water abroad, he was the one who risked his life to save me."

Zander had heard her mention the accidental drowning incident before.

He just hadn't expected this man to be her savior.

The man started coughing again, coughing so violently that Renata put on a sickeningly fake display of concern. "Dennis, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Zander, Dennis seems to be in a lot of pain. I should take him to the hospital."

Since he was the man who had saved her life, Zander couldn't exactly object.

Queenie, however, was immediately on high alert. She whispered a warning to the man, "Have you forgotten why you came here? You need to..."

The breathless man held up a hand to stop her from continuing.

"Another day," he rasped weakly.

With unsteady steps, he stumbled out of the venue.

Renata hurriedly rushed forward to support his arm.

Anxious, Queenie tried to follow them, but her wrist was suddenly yanked back by Zander. A dark hostility settled between his brows. "You still haven't answered me. He's Renata's savior, so what does he have to do with you?"

"Let go of me!"

"You're my wife. Where do you think you're going?"
