The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 95

Zander's eyes flew wide open, yet his pupils instantly shrank to pinpricks.

The blood rushed from his face, and his brain completely short-circuited.

Impossible... impossible...

He took a step back and suddenly burst into loud laughter. "Are you joking? Do you think I've never met your Mr. Zimmer? Spouting nonsense with a straight face, I think you..."

"Mr. Calvert, I think you should stop making a complete fool of yourself!"

Miles had suddenly walked over at some point.

Zander's pupils dilated again, his eyes darkening entirely like ink spreading through his irises.

He stood completely frozen in place.

It was as if someone had cast a spell on him.

Miles walked up to Stanley and respectfully called out, "Mr. Zimmer."

As soon as that title left his lips, it wasn't just Zander who looked as though he had been struck by a silent bolt of lightning.

Queenie was so psychologically shell-shocked she turned to stone right then and there...

Her brain felt completely wiped, a total blank slate. Every thought, every word, every reflex—wiped to zero in a single instant.

"Mr. Calvert, that day at Mrs. Zoffany's charity gala, Mr. Zimmer intentionally switched identities with me. I never imagined that someone like you, who looks decent on the surface, could be such an utter snob. You're nothing but a dog for Evermore Group, yet you look down on everyone else."

Miles sneered with absolute disdain.

Someone nearby immediately joined in. "He doesn't even recognize the CEO of Aurélle, and he calls himself an executive? What kind of executive is he? Chief Executive of Making a Fool of Himself?"

The surrounding crowd erupted into mocking laughter.

Someone else added:

"If you ask me, he's the 'Chief Executive of doing grunt work'!"

"No, no, no, he's the 'Chief Executive of always being on the verge of getting fired'."

"He's the Chief of shifting the blame and making people clean up his messes..."

Amidst the endless barrage of sarcasm and insults, Zander's face flushed a deep, humiliated red.
