Chapter 147

ROMAN-

Olivia was sour the entire next day.

I did not see her at breakfast. I did not see her on the beach. By afternoon I cracked. I could not pretend it didn’t bother me any longer.

“Where is Olivia?” I asked Ethan. “I haven’t seen her all day.”

Ethan sighed and cracked a beer. “I think Luca turned her down. Or stopped texting. She’s acting lovesick. Won’t talk to anyone. Locked in her room.”

Guilt hit extra hard.

Her brother thought it had something to do with the F1 driver. He didn’t know it was his own best friend that had her depressed like that.

I had not wanted her to feel like that. I was staying away for her own good. And Ethan’s. I did not want to betray him.

Lovesick. The word felt wrong. She was not sick over Luca. She was sick over me.

Night came. Still no Olivia. Everyone else was out camping on the beach.

I could not stop myself. I knocked on her door even though the sane part of me was insisting to leave it

alone.

“Leave me alone.”

I opened it anyway.

She sat up, ready to shout, then saw me. I shut the door quietly. Moonlight was the only light flowing into her room currently.

She looked fucking sexy even out of the bikini-soft pajamas that still made my hands itch to touch her. Red hair down. Eyes puffy. Mouth tight.

Did I make her fucking cry? You jackass.

“Why are you in here while everyone is out?” I asked.

“Why do you care?”

“We’ve been through this already.”

She sighed. “You will never have sex with me. Your words. Not mine. Apparently I’m not good enough to be fucked by Roman. But other girls are.”

I frowned. Her words felt like a slap I had earned.

“Do you really think that’s what this is about? You think I turned you down because you’re not good

enough?”

Partly yes

I groaned. “Olivia. You drive me fucking insane. Don’t ever think I don’t want you.”

Her eyes looked brighter at my confession.

Fuck, I wasn’t supposed to say that.

I added something quickly, before that look became a door I walked through. “I’m still choosing to keep my distance. I can’t hurt Ethan. He would never overstep like that with my sister. I know him. He deserves the same kind of respect and loyalty from me.”

“If you have no intention of touching me, then leave-”

I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her in before I had a chance to understand what I was doing.

Her scent took over.

“I have every intention of touching you. Now. Here. Just not sex. Okay?”

She bit her lip. Then she nodded, like this was better than nothing.

“Strip,” I said. “I want you completely naked.”

She looked surprised at first but she didn’t need to be told twice.

She did. I did as well.

The moonlight was on her red hair, on her breasts, on the body I had tasted in the sand and sent away.

I didn’t think twice as I put my mouth on her everywhere I could reach.

Starting from her throat. Then the underside of her breast. I sucked her nipples until she shook.

She arched into me, fingers in my hair, a broken sound when I used my teeth. I pushed two fingers into her and fucked her with them while she muffled sounds against my shoulder.

She was soaked. Tight. The same as last night. I curled my fingers and watched her fall apart on my hand, biting her own lip so people would not hear.

I was so hard it hurt. I wanted inside her so badly my vision narrowed.
