Chapter 286
-MARCO-
She put a finger to her own mouth. “Shhh.”
I frowned up at her. “Shh?”-
She nodded, as if we were sharing a secret and not a mattress.

Her knees were still on either side of my hips. The dress had ridden higher. I was doing complicated math about where my hands were allowed to be and losing.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
I did not know what else to do. I nodded.
She leaned in. Her hair brushed my cheek. Her mouth found my ear, warm, and the words came after. “You’re the first person I have ever kissed.”
I froze.
Breathing became a task. The staged photo. The kiss I had given her because the camera needed one for the album to show to our families.
That had been her first? Not a boy in a vineyard. Not a cousin’s friend at a wedding she was not supposed
to attend. Me?
“First kiss?” I managed to ask and couldn’t even recognize my own voice.
She nodded against my ear. Then she pulled back just enough to pout, which should not have been effective and was. “You want to know another secret?”
All I could do was nod again. My hands stayed flat on the bed. My pulse going wild like we were running a
race.
“I’m a virgin.”
Fuck.
She was drunk. In my lap. Telling me she had never been touched how the dress was currently suggesting she wanted to be. How? How could someone like her be untouched?
Every reason I had for putting distance between us lined up, doubling.
She did not know what she was saying. She would hate me in the morning if I let this become anything.
Push her off. I growled in my head.
Say her name like a warning.
Anything.

Since she was handing out honesty, I could not stop the question. “Who did you go out with tonight?”
She started giggling. Soft, ridiculous, against my neck. “Just me. And ME.”
