Seeing Lexie stumble over her words, her face showing a mix of awkwardness and frustration, Ares realized he’d probably crossed the line.
After all, virginity was still a pretty big deal for a female.
But for Lexie, it wasn’t about that. She just couldn’t accept being with a little fox like him.
Oh my god, I seriously can’t deal with this, Lexie felt totally defeated.
But then again…
She remembered all those wuxia or post–apocalyptic webnovels she’d read, where the heroine would use her blood to open secret realms or heal people.
Maybe I should try it too, Lexie thought to herself.
It was just a drop of blood anyway. No big deal for her.
Thinking that, Lexie grabbed a brooch and got ready to poke her finger and draw a drop of blood.
“Master, what are you doing?”
“It’s simple. I’m going to use my blood to save your master. I’ve read tons of webnovels where the hero or heroine uses their own blood to open secret realms or heal people.
“So, I’m gonna give it a shot. Who knows, maybe it’ll actually work and save your master!”
“But Master, your blood is just regular old blood. How could that possibly save my master?
“I mean, human blood is basically just red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. It’s all super
normal stuff.
“There’s nothing magical about it! It can’t heal anyone, and it definitely can’t cure a beastman’s gene disease.”
Hearing Ares say that, Lexie looked at him and grinned.
I know you don’t buy it, but you never know until you try. Maybe my blood really is different. I mean, I’m kind of a mystery myself–who knows, maybe I come with some hidden powers or something.”
After all, she was a transmigrator.
Ares’s robotic eyes widened in surprise for a split second, but then he just shook his head.
“Master, I get that you’re worried about my master, but we can’t just mess around without thinking. What if something bad happens?”
Lexie said firmly, “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. And honestly, we don’t have any other options right now. I have to give it a shot.

“Come on, it’s just a single drop of blood. What could possibly go wrong? Trust me, I’ve got more than enough–one drop is barely a scratch for me. It’s no big deal.”
With that, she brushed off Ares’s protests, grabbed the brooch, and poked her finger without hesitation.
A bright red drop welled up instantly, and she quickly let it fall into the little fox’s mouth.
She watched as the little fox gulped down the blood, totally out of it, but his body didn’t react at all.
Seeing that, Lexie glanced at her finger, beads of blood still forming, and thought, ‘Maybe I just didn’t give him enough. No wonder it didn’t work.
‘Well, since the blood’s already coming out, I’ll just let a few more drops fall in. No point wiping it off now.
With that, Lexie let every last drop from her finger drip into the little fox’s mouth, hoping he’d shift back to his beastman form.
After all, ever since she picked up the little fox, she’d just treated him like some stray–never even considered he could be a beastman.
But then she remembered that Arthur had examined him before. Someone as skilled as Arthur, there’s no way he wouldn’t have noticed if the little fox was actually a beastman, right?
Thinking about it, Lexie glanced down at the little fox lying in her arms, and she couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
‘Whatever, no point overthinking it. It’s not like it’ll change anything,‘ she thought.
Listening to the wind and rain howling outside the cave, Lexie couldn’t help but let out a silent sigh.
She couldn’t even use her Optic Brain, and going outside was out of the question. Stuck here all alone, she was bored out of her mind.
‘Twelve more days! How am I supposed to survive the next twelve days?‘ Lexie thought, feeling like she was going to lose her mind.
“Master, what’s wrong?” Ares asked.
“Nothing, just bored.”
“Bored? Master, do you want to learn something fun?”
“Learn what?” Lexie asked.
As soon as Ares said that, Lexie’s eyes lit up with interest.
“How about learning to pilot a mecha?” Ares suggested.
“Here? This cave is way too small. How am I supposed to learn in here?”
“I can set up a virtual training space for you, Master. So, what do you think? Wanna try it out?”

“Heck yes! Of course I want to! I’ve been dying to learn. If I could pilot a mecha, forget about fighting–at least I’d have a way to bail if things get dangerous, right?
“This is freaking amazing! I’m so pumped!” Lexie exclaimed.
Seeing Lexie so happy, Ares’s mechanical eyes lit up with happiness.
“Master, do you have your own mecha?”
“Yeah! Marshal Drake gave me a mecha a while back, but since I never learned how to use it, it’s just been sitting in my storage capsule this whole time.
“So, should I bring it out now?” Lexie asked.
“Go ahead, Master, you can take your mecha out now.”
“Alright then.”
After Ares projected the virtual training space, Lexie took out the mecha Marshal Drake had given her.
Compared to Ares’s mecha, hers was way more feminine–sleek curves, a gorgeous face. Standing side by side, they were like night and day.
“Whoa, Master, who would’ve thought your mecha is a bio–mecha too, just like mine! But since it hasn’t been activated yet, you’ll need to input your own gene to bring it online,” Ares explained.
“Alright, just tell me how and I’ll input my gene right now,” Lexie said.
As instructed by Ares, Lexie activated her mecha. But when it spoke for the first time, Lexie was so stunned by its voice that she just froze in place.
“Holy crap, girl! Did you forget about me and let me rot in here? How long has it been? Took you forever to finally wake me up!
“Seriously, I’ve been locked up for so long, I felt like I was suffocating! Finally, I’m alive again!
“I swear, I’m never listening to that bastard Austin again. He forced me to shut down for so long, it almost broke me!” the mecha complained.
As she finished, the mecha moved closer to Lexie, her bright mechanical eyes scanning Lexie for a moment before she spoke, a hint of confusion in her voice.
“Master?”
“Yep, that’s me,” Lexie replied.
Lexie instantly got nervous in front of such a bossy mecha.
“Wait, you signed a mate contract with that smelly beastman?” the mecha asked.
“Yeah, I did,” Lexie replied.

“Do you even realize? Females are basically wiped out across the whole Aetherion Interstellar Zone. You’re like a one–of–a–kind treasure, and instead of keeping yourself safe, you just let some stinky beastman snatch you up?
“Honestly, you’re way too clueless!” the mecha grumbled.
