Chapter 99
“Ares, you don’t drink nutrient fluid either. So, what do you use for energy?” Lexie asked.
“Master, I need crystal cores,” Ares replied.

“Crystal cores? I actually have some. Funny, I used to stash these away thinking I’d need them to save my own skin.
“But now that I’m healed up, I don’t need them anymore. Here, you can have them,” Lexie said, handing over a pile of crystal cores.
Seeing Lexie offer the whole pile, Ares just picked up one crystal core and held it in his hand.
“Master, I only need two crystal cores. One will power me up, and I’ll turn the other into a heater to make the cave cozier,” Ares explained.
“Alright, I’ll hang on to the rest. If you ever need more, just ask,” Lexie said.
Lexie glanced around the cave, then reached out to gently pet Tumblebeast that had been glued to her side.
After soothing its nerves, she walked over to the cave entrance and took a look outside.
Heavy, oppressive winds whipped the trees, and the howling storm made the already gloomy day feel even more eerie and menacing.
Lexie stood at the mouth of the cave, watching the raging wind outside, her brows knitting together.
“With weather like this, getting out of here is going to be tough,” she said.
“Master, this kind of weather is going to stick around for twelve days. The terrain on this planet is pretty unusual, and we really picked the worst time to show up.
“Plus, the magnetic field here is acting up, so we can’t contact the outside world at all.
“So, Master, we’re stuck here for twelve days. Once the hurricane blows over, then we can finally get out of here,” Ares concluded.
“Is that so?”
After getting a quick rundown from Ares about how they ended up here, Lexie couldn’t help but worry about Serenus, William, Samuel, and Eric.
“They gave me the only escape pod. Are they even still alive?
“That was in space! Without an escape pod, how could they possibly survive?’
Just imagining William and Serenus dying made Lexie’s chest ache.
“They’re four living, breathing people! After everything we’ve been through together, how could I not feel

anything for them?’ Lexie thought.
:..
Just like Ares said, Lexie tried using her Optic Brain to contact Dr. Cole.

But no matter what she did, she couldn’t reach anyone outside-let alone William or any of the others.
‘Maybe they’re gone… Lexie’s heart sank.
Maybe sensing Lexie’s mood, Tumblebeast came over and rubbed its fluffy body against her.
Seeing the beast being so sweet, Lexie couldn’t help but pat its head and give it a hug.
After the wave of sadness passed, Lexie knew life had to go on. With twelve days ahead in this cave, she popped open her storage space and started hauling out all her living essentials, one after another.
Some of these things she’d squirreled away herself, but a ton had been set aside by Arthur-if he thought she might need it, he made sure she had it.
Now, everything was finally coming in handy.
So, the fancy princess bed, the plush carpet, the spotless heater-all of it got set up right there in the dark
cave.

“And even though Gary can be pretty ruthless, he’s always been loyal to the family. He never even considered betraying them.
“He just wanted to prove he was the stronger one, the one who deserved to lead the family.
“So honestly, in some ways, he’s actually kind of a sad character,” Ares said, shaking his head.
“Really? So, what’s your master’s real name?” Lexie asked.
“His name is Cristia.”
“Cristia…” Lexie echoed, the name lingering on her lips.
As Lexie stroked the little fox’s fur in her arms, realizing his true identity was Cristia, a storm of emotions- shock, confusion, and a strange sense of connection–swirled inside her.
According to Ares, Cristia had ended up so weak just to save her.
Lexie knew she could cure gene diseases in beastmen just by touching them. But she’d been around Cristia for a long time, always close-so why hadn’t he shown any signs of getting better? The more she thought about it, the more anxious she felt.
“Ares, you said I’m a female-does that mean there’s something special I can do to help your master recover faster?” Lexie asked, worry clear in her voice.
“Yes. As long as you and my master… hook up, his body will recover,” Ares replied, matter-of-factly.
“Wait, what? You mean… actually sleep with him?” Lexie blurted out, totally floored.
Hearing that, Lexie glanced down at the nine-tailed little fox in her arms, her lips twitching awkwardly.
‘Whoa, a human and a fox? This is seriously crazy!’ she thought, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
“Uh, that’s way too much. I’m just a normal girl-I can’t just… you know, do that kind of thing with your master,” Lexie stammered, her cheeks burning.
