The Last True Female (Lexie) (by Sylvia Vance) novel Chapter 102

Chapter 102

Dory, Cristia’s body hasn’t recovered yet. Why’d you just toss him on the floor?Lexie said.

That huge beastman takes up way too much space on your bed. With all that fur, he’ll be just fine down there, Dory replied.

After saying that, Dory kicked the massive beast form of Cristia aside, finding him an eyesore.

Seeing Dory act so dismissive, Lexie thought to herself, ‘If it weren’t for that metal casing. I’d almost think there was a human soul hiding inside her.

The cave was warm enough, and with a carpet on the floor, Lexie tossed a blanket over Cristia and then crashed onto the bed, falling fast asleep.

Stuck in this cave, cut off from the outside world with nowhere to go, what else was there for her to do but sleep?

Meanwhile, Lexie was fast asleep. On the other side, when Arthur heard from Serenus and William that Lexie was missing, he nearly lost it.

Arthur’s voice cracked with panic. What did you just say? Lex is missing?

His eyes went bloodshot in an instant. He grabbed Serenus by the shoulders and demanded, voice shaking, How could Lex just disappear?

Weren’t you guys supposed to stick to her like glue? Didn’t I tell you to keep her safe?

Then why are you here and she’s not? Where is she? Tell me! Where the hell is Lex?

Serenus turned his head away, unable to meet Arthur’s eyes. After the ship incident, they’d gone searching for Lexie.

But no matter what they did, they just couldn’t find her anywhere.

She was gone, and even her tracker was dead silent. With nothing else they could do, they came back to Arthur for help.

Seeing Serenus look so guilty, Arthur was on the verge of snapping. He’d mapped out the route, everything should have gone smoothly.

So why did the ship he’d prepared end up sabotaged? Where did it all go wrong?

Not knowing the answer just made Arthur even more frantic.

But what really had him on edge was that he couldn’t get a single signal on Lexie’s location.

But still

Serenus, just tell me, who the hell was behind blowing up our ship?Arthur pressed.

Serenus answered, It was Prince Nelson from the Aetherion Federation. He brought his men, wrecked our ship, and messed with the escape pod.

Given how things were, we had no choice but to put Lex in the only escape pod and send her off first.

We thought we’d defeat Prince Nelson first, then go after Lex. But what caught us off guard was

Serenus’s tone turned serious. After a long pause, he finally looked at Arthur and said gravely. Dr. Cole, Prince Nelson isn’t the useless guy we always thought he was.

He’s way out of my league.

What? You mean Nelson actually outclassed you?Arthur blurted out, eyes wide in shock.

Hearing that from Serenus, Arthur was completely stunned.

Serenus nodded. Yeah, Prince Nelson must’ve been hiding his real strength all along. Out in space, William and I tag- teamed him.

But even with both of us, we still got our asses handed to us.

If he hadn’t been nursing some hidden injuries, all four of us would’ve been toast in that fight.”

Serenus’s words made Arthur’s face fall.

He realized he’d totally underestimated Nelson. All this time, he’d thought Nelson was just some entitled rich kid, arrogant, useless, all talk and no substance.

But now, it was obvious that was just a front. Nelson was way more cunning than he let on, hiding his true strength deep down. He was a tough adversary to deal with.

Nelson was always trying to oneup Austin. As the military backbone of the Aetherion Federation, Austin had always been Nelson’s goto rival.

But who would’ve thought that the prince, who seemed like nothing but a showoff with no real skills, was actually hiding some serious power and a mind as calculating as they come?

Honestly, they’d been way too narrowminded about Nelson.

Now that they thought about it, if Nelson really was useless, there’s no way he’d ever be the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation.

After all, the old emperor had a whole pack of kids, and every single one of them was a force to be reckoned with.

If Nelson didn’t have any real talent, there was no way he’d be the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation.

It looked like they had really underestimated him.

It was their mistake, underestimating Nelson’s true power was exactly why things turned out like this.

Now, they’d let Lexie slip right through their fingers.

Seeing how grim Arthur looked, Serenus couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine.

Back then, they’d totally underestimated Nelson’s strength, that was the only reason he and William thought they could just go up and challenge him.

But in the fight against Nelson, they were always on the losing side. William even got hurt because of it.

If Nelson hadn’t been nursing old wounds and hadn’t been so desperate to track down Lexie, all four of them would be dead

Dr. Cole, do you really think Lex got snatched by Prince Nelson?Serenus asked, his voice tense and worried.

Arthur shook his head. No chance. I set up a special ward on Lex. If anyone tries to trap her or take her, I’d get an alert instantly.

So right now, she’s definitely safe.

Serenus, I’ve already sent people to search the nearby planets for Lex. While they’re out there, I need you to handle something for me,Arthur said.

What is it?Serenus asked.

Arthur replied, Go find Kaelen Tideborne, the Merman King. He’s Lex’s mate now, there is a mate bond between them.

As her mate, Kaelen can use their mate link to pinpoint where Lex is.

Plus, the Merfolk rules all the seas in the galaxy. Anywhere there’s water, Kaelen can travel through it.

Go tell Kaelen that Lex is missing. Tell him to drop everything and find her ASAP, and make sure nothing happens to her.

On it. I’m heading out right now,Serenus said, not wasting a second.

As Serenus left, just as Arthur was about to do something else, his Optic Brain started buzzing.

He looked down and saw it was Marshal Drake calling.

Why is Marshal Drake calling me at a time like this? Did he already hear about Lex going missing?Arthur thought.
