Chapter 106
After the beastman left with Cristia and Tumblebeast, Ares, who had risked his life to send out a signal, finally made it back.
But the moment he stepped into the cave and saw it completely empty, he was totally baffled.
“Wait a second, where is everyone? Where did they all disappear to? Ares wondered, feeling lost.
Lexie? Where did she go? And what about my master and Tumblebeast? Where could they have gone? Ares thought anxiously.
After searching the cave from top to bottom, Ares still couldn’t find a single clue.
‘Where’s my master? Where did everyone go? Ares thought, growing more anxious by the second.
He’d just managed to get in touch with the outside world, but now his master and everyone else had vanished without a trace. ‘Now what am I supposed to do?‘ Ares thought, panic rising in his chest.
On the other side of Aeris Planet, as soon as the door opened, Dory, still trapped behind the barrier, spotted the beastman hauling a giant nine–tail fox over his shoulder and dragging Tumblebeast behind him as if it were nothing.
“Gary, where’s Lex? Didn’t you bring her back with you? And what about Ares? Why didn’t it come with you?” Dory pressed, worry clear in her tone.
“Shut up!” Gary snapped.
Without a second thought, he dumped Cristia right off his shoulder onto the floor, then tossed Tumblebeast onto the carpet like it was nothing. Only then did he finally turn his attention to Dory, who was still stuck behind the barrier.
“When I got there, the only ones left in the cave were the big one and the small one, just a couple of useless losers,” Gary said, tossing a glance at Cristia and Tumblebeast.
“As for Lex, that little beastman you keep asking about, I didn’t see her at all. If you ask me, she must’ve been taken away by that fish guy, Kaelen Tideborne.”
“The whole cave reeked of rotten fish, it was nasty as hell,” Gary added with a sneer.
“Kaelen Tideborne? Isn’t the Merman King supposed to live on Bolrasai Planet? This is Aeris Planet, how could he just show up here?” Dory blurted out, her voice full of disbelief.
“Why not? Kaelen is the Merman King. As long as there’s water, he can slip between planets like it’s nothing.
“Right now, Aeris Planet’s getting hammered by its seasonal storms. Kaelen could’ve just ridden the rain straight here, nothing weird about that,” Gary replied, sounding totally unfazed.
As soon as Dory heard Gary say that, she instantly started to panic.
She slammed her hands against the barrier trapping her inside, her voice full of desperation.
“Gary, let me out! I have to go find my master!” Dory shouted, her voice trembling with urgency.
“You can’t go out yet. You’re covered in the residue of particle dust storm. If it’s not cleaned off, you might self–destruct,” Gary said, his tone cold and matter–of–fact.

“You’re a top–tier bio–inecha. If you blow up, this planet’s done for.
“For my own good, you’d better stay put in that barrier until all the residue of particle dust storm is gone. “It won’t take long, just a day, and you’ll be free to go,” Gary added, not bothering to hide his impatience. With that, Gary left Dory alone and shifted his focus to Cristia, who was sprawled out helplessly on the floor.
This was his blood brother, but since they hadn’t grown up together, they never really felt like family.
Later, when Cristia became the clan leader, Gary wasn’t satisfied at all. He started scheming behind the scenes, trying to set up his own brother and squeeze some benefits out of him.
Gary did end up snagging the clan leader position, but after just a few days, he realized it was totally boring and not worth it
at all.
There was a ton of annoying crap to deal with every single day, driving him nuts, so he just handed the position back to the
clan.
Once he quit, Cristia got the clan leader spot back by default.
But after everything he’d done to hurt his brother so badly back then, he had no clue if his brother was even still alive.
To his surprise, just yesterday, he actually detected traces of his brother on a robot.
That was why he ended up saving Dory when she was malfunctioning, and heard about his brother Cristia from her, so he brought Cristia back with him.
From his quick check, he could tell his brother’s body had mostly healed up. The only reason Cristia was still out cold and couldn’t shift back to human form was that it was missing one last step, Gary’s help.
If Gary was right, his brother had forced himself to transform into a human and use his powers a few times before his body was fully recovered.
That was exactly why Cristia was so weak now.
‘Now that I’d helped Cristia recover, once he was back to normal, I’d just give the clan leader job right back to him,” Gary thought to himself.
Being the clan leader was a total pain, all those stupid rules and endless hassles, it was enough to make anyone lose their mind.
As soon as Gary finished, Cristia, who’d been stuck in his beast form, instantly shifted back to his beastman form.
The moment he opened his eyes and saw Gary, his fist flew straight for Gary’s nose before he even realized it.
“Ow! Cristia, are you trying to get yourself killed? I’m the guy who just saved your ass, and you dare hit me?” Gary yelled, clutching his nose in pain.
Cristia couldn’t be bothered with Gary’s angry yelling. He sat up, scanned the room quickly, then shot Gary a furious look. “Where’s Lex? Where is she now? Are you hiding her?” Cristia snapped, his voice brimming with anger.
“Why the hell would I hide a beastman? What, you think I’m crazy or something?” Gary snapped back, sounding totally fed

“Beastman?” Cristia repeated, still looking confused.
After Gary said that, Cristia looked around and spotted Dory nearby.
Dory shot him a quick shake of her head. Cristia had no idea who she was or what she meant, but he got the message, this definitely wasn’t the moment to reveal Lexie’s true identity to Gary.
“Gary, have you seen a small beastman, about yea high, with brown hair and dark eyes?” Cristia asked, keeping his tone neutral.
“Nope, never seen that little beastman. By the time I got there, the one you mentioned had already been taken away.
“If I had to guess, it was probably that salty fish Kaelen Tideborne who took her, Gary replied, sounding totally unconcerned.
“Kaelen Tideborne?” Cristia muttered, his tone suddenly tense.
Hearing that name, Cristia glanced out at the pouring rain, his face turning serious.
“Where’s Ares? Where did it go?” Cristia asked, worry etched all over his face.
“Who cares? It’s just a busted mecha. Look at you, getting all worked up over it. If it’s gone, so what? I can just buy you another one later,” Gary scoffed, totally unfazed.
Seeing Gary’s total lack of concern, Cristia, still freaking out over Lexie’s safety, sent out a quick signal and called Ares back. Only then did he finally piece together what had gone down while he’d been knocked out.
Once he realized Kaelen had taken Lexie, Cristia turned to look at Dory, still trapped inside the protective barrier. Then he fixed his gaze on Ares and gave a firm order.
“Ares, stay here and watch over Dory and Fluffy. Gary and I are heading out to find Lex.
“She’s not by my side, and I’m really worried about her safety,” Cristia said, his voice low and tense.
“Master, I want to go with you,” Ares said, his voice full of determination.
“No, you stay here and keep watch. And earlier, you said you sent out a distress signal, who did you contact?” Cristia pressed, his voice tense.
