Chapter 108
“Marshal, we’ve still got the real culprit right here! If he hadn’t set Lex up back then, none of this would’ve happened,” Arthur said.
“So, Marshal, should we deal with him first, then join forces to save Lex?” Arthur suggested.
When Arthur said that, Austin turned to glare at Nelson, his eyes growing even colder.
Nelson just stared right back at Austin and Arthur, totally unfazed by their hostile looks.
He lounged lazily against the cave wall, muttering to himself.
“I kept wondering what that female who was pretending to be a beastman was actually called.
“Turns out, she’s Lexie Goodwin, that artificial female bot who was always hanging around you, Austin!
“Austin, seriously, how blind are you?” Nelson snorted.
“If you’d figured out her real identity sooner, I wouldn’t have had to go through all that trouble making those androids.
“You have no idea how nasty those androids smell. They’re just drenched in that chemical preservative stench from head to
toe.
“Now that I know who she really is, all I need to do is get my hands on her.
“Guess I can shut down my lab for good,” Nelson said, sounding completely unbothered.
Seeing how Nelson just brushed it all off, Austin gave him a chilling stare, his whole vibe turning deadly serious.
“Nelson, aren’t you even a little scared that I’ll kill you?” Austin growled, his voice cold as ice.
“Austin, do you really have the guts to kill me? If you do, war between the Empire and the Federation will break out right here, right now,” Nelson taunted, a smirk on his face.
“Once the Empire and the Federation start fighting, the whole Aetherion Interstellar Zone will be thrown into chaos. Planets will turn into war zones, and lives will be snuffed out by the millions.
“As the Marshal of the Federation, are you really okay with letting that happen?
“And even if you go through with it, do you think your Empire’s Elders would ever approve of that?
“Even if your Empire somehow wins, you know it’ll cost you everything/
“Because if you want to take me out, if you want to fight the Federation, your Empire will have to pay a devastating price.
“All those advanced weapons, precious resources, and countless warriors, they’ll all be lost in this war.
“And all of that, just to eliminate me, Nelson Murphy. Do you really think it’s worth it?
“And do you really believe you can defeat the Federation? Our technology, our soldiers, our determination, none of which you can easily overcome.
“So, Austin, you’d better think carefully about whether you truly want to go to war with me. Or maybe you’re just going to kill me right here…” Nelson taunted.
Nelson spoke with a mocking confidence, like he was dead sure Austin wouldn’t dare make a move against him.

Chapter 108
Sure enough, when Nelson finished, hesitation flashed in Austin’s eyes.
He knew exactly what kind of disaster would follow if the Empire and the Federation went to war.
But the idea of just letting Nelson off the hook made Austin grit his teeth in frustration.
Seeing the hesitation flicker in Austin’s eyes, Nelson spoke up again.
“Austin, if the Federation and the Empire go to war, fighting over that female Lexie is the perfect excuse for both sides to start a bloodbath.
“Just think about it, if that female named Lexie becomes the spark that sets our empires against each other, do you really think things will end well for her?
“Even if her identity is priceless, when so many people lose their loved ones, their homes, and even their health because of her, even if the beastmen treasure her, they’ll still end up passing their negative emotions onto her, often without even realizing it.
“If she, just a female, has to shoulder all that negativity…
“Austin, do you really think she could handle all of that?” Nelson sneered, his voice laced with mockery.
Nelson’s calculated analysis made Austin and Arthur’s eyes go absolutely ice–cold.
Sure, they couldn’t kill him right now, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t let someone else handle the dirty work for them.
A Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation just wasn’t worth all–out war.
Nelson could see right through the scheming in Austin and Arthur’s eyes.
He was a master at manipulation and reading people.
If he didn’t have those skills, he never would’ve survived the cutthroat politics of the Aetherion Federation’s royal family, let alone climbed his way to the top.
Every decision he made, every move he took, was carefully calculated to get him exactly what he wanted.
And right now, his only goal was that female named Lexie.
She had the power to cure his gene disease, plus, she was a real female who could actually have kids.
If he could be with Lexie, their children wouldn’t have to be born in those icy Genesis Pods, and they’d never have to be scared of getting stuck with that gene disease which couldn’t be cured.
No matter how he looked at it, that female named Lexie was his, and he wasn’t letting anyone else have her.
Meeting Nelson’s scheming gaze, Arthur and Austin knew exactly what he was plotting, they could read him like an open book.
They understood that now was not the time to confront Nelson head–on.
Still, even if they couldn’t kill him, they could simply choose to ignore him.
With that, Arthur shot Austin a knowing look, then pulled out a spatial transporter and led Austin straight inside.
When Nelson tried to follow, the device instantly repelled him, blocking his approach.
Stuck outside, Nelson could only watch helplessly as Austin and Arthur disappeared from sight.

Chapter 108
And as they vanished, the spatial transporter closed up, leaving Nelson alone in the cave.
It wasn’t until the transporter disappeared right in front of him that Nelson finally realized what was going on.
That sneaky bastard Arthur must’ve figured out where Lex is hiding. He’s trying to ditch me and go after her with Austin alone, Nelson thought, his eyes narrowing.
‘But do they really think they can pull that off?‘ Nelson scoffed to himself.
He and Austin had been at each other’s throats for so many years, they probably knew each other inside out, maybe even better than they knew themselves.
Plus, he’d scattered plenty of hidden informants around Austin all these years.
After all this time, no way he’d let all those years slip by without tagging Austin with a tracker.
