“Hey, ugly female, you’re the one who’s small. Your whole family’s got the same problem,” Gary shot back.

“You…” Lexie was about to snap back, but seeing Gary clutching his crotch in pain, still trying to act tough, she felt a twinge of guilt.

“Actually, now that I think about it, having you as my gal pal sounds pretty fun. Maybe you should just forget about the treatment and officially join the sisterhood. What do you say?” Lexie said.

“No way,” Gary shot back.

And with that, he snatched the medical device from Lexie’s hand, glaring at her fiercely.

“What? Ugly female, you seriously gonna stand there and watch me fix myself up?” he shot back.

“If you’re cool with it, I could watch. Not like it’s much to look at anyway, it’s not gonna scar me or anything,” Lexie teased.

“Get lost!” Gary snapped.

“Tch! Is that all you know how to say?” Lexie muttered.

Seeing Gary about to blow a fuse, Lexie didn’t actually want to turn him into a eunuch, so she decided to play it smart and leave.

Once Lexie was gone, Gary slipped into his folding space to treat his injury.

After Gary left, Lexie pulled out another bottle of ice water from her storage space and took a sip.

‘It’s not even that cold. How did it mess up Gary’s little buddy?‘ she thought.

“Tch! He’s all bark and no bite.

While Lexie was busy trash–talking Gary in her mind, Kaelen came over and grabbed the ice water right out of her hand.

“Lex, this stuff is made from deep–sea ice water. It’s specially for you to chill out when you’re feeling. overheated.

“Since you’re carrying the mer egg, it’s safe for you. But if a regular beastman even touches water this cold, it could seriously freeze their skin,” Kaelen said.

“What? Deep–sea ice water? But it doesn’t even feel cold to me!” Lex said, grabbing the bottle back again and taking another sip.

“Lex, you’re pregnant. The mer egg inside you is making you feel overheated, so that’s why you don’t feel the cold when you drink this ice water,” Kaelen explained.

“Really? If I’d known that, I wouldn’t have splashed that water on Gary down there,” Lexie muttered, shaking

her head.

‘Ugh, what a mess. Did I just end up making Gary my newest gal pal?‘ Lexie thought, half amused, half guilty.

Hearing Lexie say that and seeing her looking all sheepish, Kaelen was taken aback for a second, but then a grin he just couldn’t hold back spread across his face.

Lexie’s little stunt really caught him off guard.

Gary wasn’t weak by any means. That ice water wouldn’t actually hurt him, but it was definitely enough to make him uncomfortable.

Kaelen knew he’d have to keep a close eye on Lexie from now on, just so Gary wouldn’t try to mess with her behind everyone’s back.

Just like Kaelen had predicted, in the middle of the night, after he’d been watching over Lexie all day an、…ad just stepped out for a moment, Gary finally emerged from his folding space.

Just as Gary was wondering where Lexie had gone, she stepped out of the bathroom and saw him standing in her room. She was so startled that she immediately slammed the bathroom door shut.

The door slammed shut with a loud bang, there was no way Gary could miss that.

He spun around, glaring at the closed bathroom door. Remembering all the crazy stuff Lexie had pulled today, he stepped up, knocked hard, and barked at the door, “Lexic, you ugly chick, get out here!”

“I’m not stupid, there’s no way I’m coming out!” Lexie called out, keeping her voice firm.

Hearing Gary banging on the door, Lexic gripped the handle like her life depended on it, no way was she stepping out now.

‘Gary’s furious. If I go out there, he’ll eat me alive!‘ Lexie thought, her heart racing with anxiety.

“Lexie, are you coming out or not? If you don’t, I’m gonna break your door down!” Gary yelled, banging on the door even harder.

He kept pounding, convinced Lexie wouldn’t really have the guts to stay locked in there.

Lexie heard him and thought, ‘Break down the door? Seriously? If he actually does it, where the heck am I supposed to hide?‘

“Hey, Gary, don’t go nuts! I’m warning you, acting crazy never ends well. Come on, we’re civilized people, busting down doors is just embarrassing!” Lexie called out, trying to sound calm but totally failing.

“Civilized? You? Ha! Lexie, if you were really civilized, tell me, what kind of ‘civilized person‘ goes around dumping ice water down a beastman’s crotch?

“Do you even get it? If something goes wrong with me down there, it’s all on you!” Gary snapped, his voice full of rage.
