The Last True Female (Lexie) (by Sylvia Vance) novel Chapter 125

Chapter 125

If he let Lexie get hurt today. Kaelen and his brother would skin him alive

Besides, Lexic was pregnant. No matter how much of a jerk Gary was, he would never hurt a pregnant female.

He just wanted to give Lexie a scare; he never really meant to hurt her.

Now that he had caught her, Gary’s heart, which had been in his throat, finally settled back down.

Thank goodness! She’s okay,he thought.

Just then, Kaclen, Arthur, and Cristia came rushing in after hearing the commotion. The first thing they saw was Lex on top of a massive ninetailed fox.

The ninetailed fox was sprawled on the ground, panting heavily.

Lexie’s clothes were rumpled and messy, and the fox’s fur looked just as disheveled.

Anyone who walked in on this scene would have a hard time not jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Still a little shaken, Lexie climbed off Gary. Kaelen and Arthur hurried over to help steady her.

I’m fine, seriously. Check on Gary instead, hope I didn’t squish him,” Lexie joked.

Get outta here! Ugly female, you really think I’m that fragile?Gary snapped.

When Gary stood up, he was already back in human form. He brushed off his clothes like he didn’t care, then gave Lexie a cold stare.

Ugly female, ever since you showed up, my luck’s been crap. Seriously, you’re a total jinx,Gary grumbled.

Oh, come on! You damn fox, are

just trying to piss me off?Lexie shot back.

But this time, Gary didn’t give Lexie any more trouble. He just shot her an unreadable look, then walked out without another word.

As Gary walked out, Lexie was still trying to figure out what the heck just happened. Meanwhile, Cristia, who’d been quietly standing by the door, couldn’t help thinking to himself.

Ever since Gary ran into Lexie yesterday, dropped all his clan leader pride just to mess with her, Cristia knew something was definitely brewing between those two.

That scene just now totally proved him right.

A ninetailed fox would only ever carry their mate on their back.

And just now, his alwaysproud little brother had actually carried Lexie on his own back.

After this, there was no way things between Gary and Lexie could ever go back to how they used to be.

Lexie had no idea what was going on in Cristia’s head. All she could tell was that Gary stormed out with a face like thunder.

To be fair, she could only blame herself. She really just wanted to tease him a bit, never meant to actually hurt him.

Chapter 125

But every time Gary saw her, he’d call her an ugly female, and he always came up with new ways to insult her.

After a while, how could she not get pissed off?

Seeing Gary all puffed up and mad, Lexic honestly didn’t even know how to describe how she felt.

Once Gary was out of sight, Kaelen told the housekeeper bot to clean up, then walked Lexie over to the bed.

Lex, go ahead and rest. I’ll be right here, keeping watch. As long as I’m around, nobody’s gonna lay a finger on youKaelen promised gently.

Kaelen, I’m really okay. Seriously, Gary was just trying to freak me out a little, he wasn’t actually trying to hurt me Lexie replied.

If he really wanted to hurt me, he wouldn’t have bothered saving me just now,” she added.

It’s getting late, you guys should all go get some rest. No need to hover around me,Lexie said.

Lex, are you sure you’ll be okay by yourself?Kaelen asked, still sounding worried.

Totally. Kaelen, I’m a grownup, not some little kid.

I’m not that fragile, seriously. Go on, all of you, get some sleep,Lexie insisted.

Hearing that, Kaelen and the others finally left, though they all looked a little reluctant to go.

Once everyone was gone, Lexie let out a long sigh of relief. She lay down on the bed, and before she knew it, she was fast asleep.

As the room finally quieted down, the window creaked open. Gary, who had left earlier, leapt back in through the window.

He moved quietly to the bedside, gazing at Lexie as she slept. The more he looked, the deeper his frown grew.

Ugly. Still ugly. No matter how I look, you’re just ugly,he grumbled to himself.

Wasn’t it Lexie, that ugly female, who snatched Cristia’s mer pearl and Kaelen’s fox bead?Gary thought, frowning.

By all rights, once she got her hands on the pearl and the bead, she should’ve scored half their lifespans and turned drop- dead gorgeous.

But now she had both the pearl and the bead, so why did Lexie still look so plain?

Was she just so hopelessly ugly from the start that even magic things couldn’t save her face?Gary wondered to himself.

Suddenly, as if something had just clicked, Gary bent down and got right up in Lexie’s face, giving her a long, hard look.

He couldn’t help but feel there was something weird about her face, though maybe it was just his imagination.
