Chapter 126
If Lexic had been just a pretty girl before, now she was a breathtaking beauty, the kind that could make the whole world stop
and stare.
Her once ordinary features were now so delicate, it was as if they’d been carved by a master. Her skin was so flawless and translucent, it looked like it might shatter with the slightest touch.
Her long lashes fluttered against her closed eyes, as if she might open them at any moment and dazzle everyone with her
gaze.
And the fresh, natural aura she gave off was so captivating that one couldn’t help but want to get closer and see for themselves.
Even if those stunning looks only appeared for a split second, it was enough for Gary to finally get a good look at i
Lexie was far from ugly.
‘She’s actually prettier than me, Gary thought, a little surprised.
‘If she’s really this pretty… Gary wondered to himself.
‘Maybe she could be my mate? After all, my dream has always been to find a beautiful mate.‘
Lexie was the only surviving female in the entire Aetherion Interstellar Zone.
‘Now that I know she’s not ugly… could I actually ask her to be my mate?‘ Gary wondered to himself.
But these past couple of days, he’d been giving Lexie a hard time, always picking on her and even calling her an ugly female.
Given how much Lexie disliked him, would she ever agree to be his mate?
Obviously, there was no way she’d ever say yes to being his mate.
‘But if she says no, maybe I could do what Cristia did and secretly form a mate bond with her, Gary mused, a sneaky thought flashing through his mind.
Seeing Lexie’s face go back to looking plain, Gary thought it over and decided not to force a mate bond with her after all.
Honestly, he only liked Lexie when she looked gorgeous, he didn’t actually care about her, just her looks.
So there was no way he was going to give her his fox bead right now.
‘T’ll just wait and see,‘ Gary told himself. ‘Maybe after a few days together, things will change between us. If I genuinely start liking Lexie, then I’ll give her my fox bead and make it official, become her mate for real.
That was what Gary had in mind, but the next day, when he saw Lexie…
As soon as Lexie started talking, Gary just knew they clashed on every level, there was no way they’d ever get along.
“Gary, come on, try this. It’s really good,” Lexie said, handing him a bowl of soup.
The soup looked beautiful, and tasted pretty good too.
With Lexie being so attentive, Gary had no idea why she was suddenly acting so nice, but he still drank the soup anyway.

“Is it good?” Lexie asked.
“Yeah, it’s good,” Gary replied.
Faced with Lexie’s unexpected attentiveness, Gary, still clueless about why she was being so nice, nodded earnestly.
“Did it make you feel any better after you drank it?” Lexie asked, her eyes full of concern.
“Huh? Is this some kind of tonic soup?” Gary asked, stirring the bottom of the bowl with his spoon, still looking confused.
“Yeah, it’s a tonic soup, actually, it’s supposed to help with your… manliness,” Lexie said, sounding pretty pleased with herself “I followed the recipe to the letter and have been simmering it since dawn just for you.
“So, how do you feel? Did you get that surge of, you know, manly energy after drinking it?”
“What? Wait, this is… for boosting my manhood?” Gary blurted out, his cheeks flushing.
“Yep, it’s for, you know, male vitality,” Lexie replied with a mischievous grin. “Honestly, I didn’t mean to mess you up yesterday, Gary.
“But I had no idea your downstairs was so delicate! All I did was pour you a glass of ice water, and it almost made you one of the girls.
“So today I whipped up this tonic soup to fix you up. That way, if things ever stop working down there, you can’t blame it on
me.”
Gary’s face turned as dark as a thundercloud.
He crushed the metal bowl flat with one slap, then stood up, towering over Lexie, jabbing a finger at her and gritting his teeth.
“Lexie, you… you’re really something else,” he spat.
“Well, since I was the one who messed you up, you really don’t have to thank me for the soup,” Lexie mumbled, sounding a little guilty.
Faced with Gary’s stormy expression, Lexie shrank her neck, her voice small and timid.
“Me? Thank you? You gotta be kidding!” Gary scoffed, rolling his eyes.
“No need for thanks. Just take it as me being nice,” Lexie said, trying to sound casual.
“You…” Gary was so pissed, he couldn’t even get the words out.
Hearing Lexie say that, Gary felt like he was punching a pillow, no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t get any real reaction out of her.
He wanted to get mad at Lexie, but seeing her looking all meek and shrinking back, his anger just fizzled out.
“Lexie, have you ever dated anyone before?” Gary asked.
“I never dated anyone before I met Austin,” Lexie said, sounding pretty nonchalant.
Hearing Lexie’s answer, Gary just felt his brain short–circuit, she was giving him a headache.
“With Lexie being such an airhead and Austin so dense, what kind of romance could they possibly have?‘ Gary thought,

The way those two interacted was like little kids playing house, there was nothing remotely interesting going on between
