“Teh! You think an ugly female like you can hurt me? Even if you trained for ten thousand years, you’d still be no match for me,” Gary smirked.

Lexie listened to Gary’s words and watched his smug expression.

Honestly, right now Lexie just wanted to grab a rock and smash his head in.

That damn fox, never says anything that makes sense!‘ Lexie cursed inwardly.

After Gary left, Lexie glanced at the gemstone flower in her hand. ‘It’s actually really pretty. Smashing it would be such a waste,’ she thought.

Hmm, better hang onto it and make some money off it, she decided.

I can mess with anyone, but there’s no way I’m messing with my cash, she told herself.

After stashing the gemstone flower in her storage space, Lexie shot a look at Gary’s disappearing figure, then turned and headed back to her room.

But just as she was about to reach her room, a massive purple nine–tailed fox was half–squatting at her doorway, completely stealing all her attention.

Lexie glanced back toward where Gary had disappeared, then turned to face the giant nine–tailed fox in front of her, unable to look away from its nine enormous, fluffy tails.

When her eyes met the fox’s dazzling, glass–like gaze, Lexie couldn’t help but gulp.

Big, fluffy creatures were her ultimate weakness, she had zero resistance.

And this nine–tailed fox was so stunning it was almost unreal.

‘Cristia?” Lexie called out.

‘Yeah, it’s me, Lex,” the fox replied.

Hearing that familiar voice, Lexie knew for sure, it was Cristia.

‘Cristia, how come you’re here? And why are you in your beast form?” she asked.

‘Lex, I want to take you out for a bit. Is that cool?” he said.

‘Absolutely! So, where are we going?” she grinned.

‘I’m taking you to my hometown,” Cristia said.

‘Wait, didn’t Kaelen say I’m not supposed to leave the ocean yet?” Lexie asked.

“I talked to Kaelen about it. As long as we’re back within a day, there’s no problem at all,” Cristia assured her.

“One day? Is that really enough time to go there and come back? Or is your hometown like, really close by?” Lexie asked.

“The Nine–Tailed Fox Clan is super close to the Merfolk, Lex. Trust me, we’ll definitely make it back within a day,” Cristia

said.

“Alright, let’s go! I’ve been cooped up on this island forever, I’m about to go crazy,” Lexie said.

“Come on, let’s get moving! I’m super curious about your Nine Tailed Fox Clan. Are there a bunch of tall, gorgeous guys like

you over there?

“And you guys are the secretive Nine–Tailed Fox Clan! The name alone sounds super mysterious, I’m really curious!” she

added

Seeing how excited Lexie was, Cristia walked forward slowly and lowered himself to the ground in front of her.

“Lex, hop on. I’ll carry you,” he said.

“Are you sure? I’m pretty heavy,” Lexie said.

“Of course! You’re not heavy at all, Lex,” Cristia reassured her.

Hearing Cristia say that and seeing him crouched down in front of her, Lexie hesitated for just a moment be hopping onto his back.

In his beast form, Cristia’s fur was super long, and not just long, but so silky and smooth that Lexie felt like she could pet it forever.

Sitting on his back was like nestling into a fluffy pile of purple cotton, so comfy she never wanted to get up.

Lexie wrapped her arms around Cristia’s neck, then, unable to resist, reached out and curiously tugged at one of his huge, plush tails.

Honestly, Lexie felt like a queen riding her majestic mount right now.

“Cristia, I’m settled in. Let’s go!” Lexie said.

“Alright, Lex, hold on tight, I’m heading out now,” Cristia replied.

‘Okay!” Lexie answered.

As Cristia started moving, Lexie felt like she was drifting on a cloud, weightless and totally blissed out.

Man, this is addictive,‘ Lexie thought, completely hooked.

As Cristia reached the edge of the island, Gary was already waiting there. Kaelen and Arthur were just quietly hanging back.

Arthur smiled softly as he handed Lex a small box. “Have fun, Lex,” he said.

Hey! You better bring Lex back on time this afternoon, you damn fox! If you don’t, don’t make me come over there and

aul her out of your fox den myself,” Kaelen warned.

I will,” Cristia replied, nodding at Kaelen.

After nodding at Kaelen, Cristia turned to Gary, his voice low and serious.

Alright, let’s go,” he said.

‘Got it, Gary replied.

As soon as Gary finished talking, he just slashed the air with his bare hands, and boom, a portal popped up out of nowhere right in front of them.

Watching Gary pull off that trick, Lexie was so stunned she instinctively craned her neck, trying to get a closer look.

One really couldn’t blame her for being out of her depth, she’d never seen anything like this way of traveling before.

While Lexie was still reeling from the shock of Gary tearing open a portal with his bare hands, Cristia’s gentle voice drifted

into her car.

“Lex, we can go now,” he said softly.
