Chapter 135
Chapter 135
“Him? We don’t even need to do anything. The rumors flying around out there will be enough to ruin him,” the beastman in the metal mask said.
“All we need to do now is keep things steady here in the Aetherion Empire and steer the conversation on the Interstellar Net, making sure everyone sides with us.
“As long as public opinion in the Aetherion Empire and on the Interstellar Net is in our favor, Nelson won’t be able to make any waves, no matter how capable he is.
“By the way, send me her location later. I want to check her out when I get the chance and see what she really looks like.
“Is she ugly or not? What’s she like? Let’s see if she’s good enough for me,” he continued.
Hearing the beastman in the metal mask say that, the subordinate standing next to him couldn’t help but make a face.
‘Seriously, at a time like this, our boss is still so full of himself?
‘There’s only one female left on Aetherion Interstellar Zone who’s immune to the Clyssia Virus. If he keeps being so picky, he might as well just shack up with another beastman,‘ the subordinate thought.
‘Honestly, I can’t even with him anymore,‘ the subordinate sighed inwardly.
“By the way, what’s the status of Austin and Ryker?” the beastman in the metal mask asked.
“We’ve got them locked up in the hypersleep pod, and with the dreamscape we’ve set up for them, Marshal Drake is probably caught up in his own virtual world, thinking he’s still hard at work,” the subordinate replied.
“That works. Our real target is the female, not the Aetherion Empire. As long as Austin’s still breathing, no matter what happens, we’ll never be backed into a corner,” the beastman in the metal mask said.
“Now that we’ve taken care of things here in the Aetherion Empire, it’s about time I pay a visit to that female who managed to survive the Clyssia Virus…” he continued.
In the dead of night, when everyone was fast asleep, a shadowy figure appeared out of nowhere in Lexie’s room.
The figure stepped forward, bent down, and examined Lexie’s face closely. As if he’d noticed something, he gently placed a finger on her forehead.
In the next instant, Lexie’s usual delicate features transformed into a stunning, unearthly beauty. Though her looks returned to normal in just a heartbeat, that brief flash of radiance was enough to take anyone’s breath away.
“So it’s the charming technique from that damn fish and that sly fox, huh!” the figure scoffed.
Just as the figure was about to touch Lexie’s face again, a razor–sharp sound sliced through the silence, shooting straight for
his throat.
Before his throat could be cut, the figure jerked back and vanished out the window in an instant.
Seeing the guy bolt, Gary shot Kristia, still standing guard by the bed, a quick look, then spun around and jumped out the window in pursuit.
As soon as Gary darted outside, he saw Kaelen blocking the metal–masked beastman.
Arthur was standing beside Kaelen, eyeing the beastman who’d just crashed onto the island from head to toe.

“That reek of wolf, the tear–shaped mole, and that silver hair… he must be a beastman from the Snow Wolf Clan,” Arthur remarked.
Kaelen glanced at the metal–masked beastman, sizing him up before asking, “Silver hair, tear mole… are you Kaelis, leader of the Snow Wolf Clan?”
Kaelen was about to speak when Gary, who had just caught up, went straight for the metal–masked beastman’s throat.
“Why bother talking? Just break his neck and be done with it,” Gary said.
“Damn fox, you really think you can break my neck? You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that,” the metal–masked beastman sneered.
“So you really are Kaelis,” Gary said.
Hearing Kaelis finally speak, Gary halted his attack and shot him a cold glare, his voice low.
“Kaelis, what are you doing here? You got a death wish or something?” Gary said.
“Looking for a mate,” Kaelis replied.
“A mate? Don’t tell me you’re after Lex,” Gary shot back, his brows knitting together in suspicion.
Gary couldn’t help but scowl at Kaelis, his voice tinged with disbelief as he pressed for an answer.
“What else? You think I’d come all this way for you, you damn fox?” Kaelis shot back.
Kaelis’s words made Gary’s frown deepen.
“Wait, Kaelis, how did you even know Lex was here? And who told you about Lex’s real identity?
“More importantly, how did you get here? This is Merfolk Island, without Kaelen’s permission, how did you manage to slip in here without anyone noticing?” Gary demanded.
Kaelis just shot Gary a cold, dismissive look before speaking in a low, icy voice.
“Why the hell would I tell you, you damn fox? Anyway, I’ve already gotten a good look at the female.
“In five months, she’ll be mine. Until then, do me a favor and keep my future mate entertained, fox,” Kaelis said.
“Kaelis, what the hell did you just say? Go on, I dare you to say that again!” Gary shot back, his eyes blazing
But before Gary could even get the words out, Kaelis disappeared right before their eyes.
Watching Kaelis disappear into thin air, Arthur didn’t even flinch.
Arthur kept his eyes glued to the device in his hand, chatting away while his fingers never stopped moving.
“Kaelis isn’t your average beastman. He’s crazy good at reading people, just a glance at your body language and he can figure out what you’re really thinking.
“This guy’s no pushover. How the hell did Kaelis even get onto Merfolk Island?
“And how did he know Lex is a female? We’ve kept her identity locked down tight, nobody’s spilled a word.
