“Gary, I don’t even know if the creature I saw, the kirin, is the same as the Light Beast you were talking about. All I know is, in that illusion, when the guy shifted into his beast form, he looked exactly like that,” Lexie said.
“Hold on, Lex, how did you end up dreaming about the Light Beast?” Gary asked, sounding genuinely surprised.
“How would I know? I just fell asleep and somehow dreamed about the Light Beast you mentioned,” Lexie replied, shrugging.
She couldn’t help but think about that breathtakingly gorgeous man from her dream. After his wife passed away, he forced himself to hold back his grief and sent their daughter into the spatial tunnel.
In the end, after freezing his wife’s body in ice, he hid himself away in a dark cave and slept for ages.
Just recalling that scene from her illusion, Lexie just couldn’t shake off the sadness that flooded her heart.
Noticing how upset Lexie was, Gary sat down next to her and quickly started browsing through his Optic Brain.
“Gary, what are you doing?” Lexie asked.
“I’m looking for a photo of the Light Beast,” Gary replied.
“You got a photo?” Lexie asked.
“Yeah, of course I do. Back when I kicked Cristia off the clan leader’s seat, the Grand Elder was worried I’d mess with someone way out of my league, so he sent me a photo of the Light Beast,” Gary explained.
“He told me that if I ever saw a Light Beast, I should keep my distance and stay far, far away,” Gary added.
“The Light Beast’s powers are just insane, one of them could basically become a god,” Gary said.
“So when it comes to a race like that, we’ve got to be extra careful and keep our guard up. If I pissed one off, sure, I might die, but if I dragged the whole clan down with me, that’d be a disaster for all of us,” Gary said.
“Really?” Lexie replied.
As Gary scrolled through his Optic Brain, his finger paused, and Lexie saw a familiar picture pop up on the screen.
“Is that…?” Lexie whispered, surprised.
“Lex, this is the Light Beast. The Grand Elder had someone sketch it from memory, just to be safe,” Gary said.
“Actually, nobody took a real photo, who’d dare point a camera at a Light Beast anyway? So they just had someone draw it from what they remembered,” Gary added.
Hearing Gary say that, Lexie yanked his Optic Brain over and stared at the familiar beast form on the screen. She pointed at the image and blurted out, stunned, “Gary, this is the exact Light Beast I saw in my dream!”
“I saw a drop–dead gorgeous guy, after his wife died, he sent their baby female through the spatial tunnel.” Lexie said, still
shaken.
“Once his daughter was gone, he sealed his wife in ice, then went to sleep in a pitch–black cave himself, Lexie added, still in
shock.
“Lex, did you really dream that the guy went and slept in a cave?” Gary asked, his brows furrowing in concern.

When Lexie said that, Gary’s brows knit together instinctively.

“Yeah, I really did. After he sent his kid away, he just hid himself away in that pitch–black cave and went to sleep,” Lexie said, her voice still shaky.
When Lexie said that, Gary’s brows knit together instinctively.
He pressed his lips together and turned to study Lexie’s face. When his gaze landed on the glittering gem on her forehead, he was so shocked, he couldn’t help but reach out and touch it.
But the moment his finger brushed the gem, a jolt of energy pulsed from it, making Gary instinctively yank his hand back.
‘Is this…?‘ Gary thought, his mind reeling.
As Gary stared at the gem on Lexie’s forehead with a strange look, he didn’t notice that her gaze turned hazy for a moment.
The moment Gary touched Lexie’s forehead, a wave of heat washed over her body.
As that heat spread through her, it felt like her blood was boiling. Her cheeks flushed bright red, and her breathing grew quick and shallow.
Gary noticed Lexie acting strange and jerked his hand back, his eyes widening in shock and confusion.
Lexie struggled to stay clear–headed, but the heat raging through her was like wildfire, making her squirm in discomfort.
She fought to tamp down the burning inside her, grabbed a glass of ice water from her storage space, and chugged it down. Only then did she finally feel the heat inside her start to ebb.
“Lex, are you alright?” Gary asked, his voice laced with concern.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Go on,” Lexie said, waving it off like it was nothing.
Lexie took a deep breath and tried to act like nothing had happened.
Gary explained, “Alright then. Lex, the Light Beasts have incredibly strong powers of purification and healing.
“Their blood can cleanse all corruption and heal any illness in the world.
“That’s why the Light Beasts have always been revered by everyone.
“But with every advantage comes a downside.
“Because the Light Beasts‘ powers are so rare, whenever other beastmen run into a problem they can’t solve, they instinctively turn to the Light Beasts for help.
“But the Light Beasts aren’t all–powerful, they can’t save everyone. Plus, the male Light Beasts are incredibly loyal, they only ever have one mate in their entire lives.
“The male Light Beasts are so loyal to their mates that whether their mate can bear children or not doesn’t matter to them at
all.
“Besides that, the female Light Beasts are divided into two categories.
“One type has great fighting power but can’t have children, while the other type has no fighting ability at all but is extremely
fertile.
