Lexic carefully touched the raised area with her finger.

They are my wing bones, Austin replied.

Wing bones Marshal Drake, can I ask what your beast form is? Lexie asked.

“A mutated white tiger,” Austin answered.

A mutated white tiger? You mean one with wings?” Lexie gently pressed on Austin’s shoulder as she spoke, moving with care.

“That’s right, a mutated white tiger with wings,” Austin confirmed

Almost instantly, Lexie’s curiosity about his beast form shot through the roof.

Truth be told, she’d never laid eyes on a mutated white tiger with wings before. So as she gently massaged the two bony protrusions on Austin’s shoulders, her touch became even softer and more careful.

After a short while, when those two wing bones beneath her hands disappeared, Austin’s tense brows finally eased.

He got dressed. Just before leaving, he reached out and softly rested his hand on Lexie’s head. It seemed like he had something to say, but in the end, he kept it to himself. Instead, he left her with a gentle smile as he walked out.

After Austin left, at Arthur’s request, Lexie began soothing the beastman warriors’s genetic ailments aboard the battleship.

She kept busy all afternoon, and when the lab finally cleared out her gaze drifted to the treatment pod sitting in the corner.

If she climbed in now and put the crystal core in with her, she could finally get rid of her incurable disease.

Just the thought made her feet move on their own, carrying her straight toward the pod.

But just as her hand touched the pod, a voice from behind startled her, and she quickly snatched her hand away.

Arthur exclaimed, “Lex, the third squad just hunted an Aram. Not only does its meat taste amazing, but it’s also a rare medicinal ingredient.

“Let’s go. I’ll let you have a taste. You’re really in luck today.”

Lexie turned around and nodded automatically.

She had no idea what an Aram was, but if Arthur said it was good it must be worth trying.

Too bad she wouldn’t get the chance to use the treatment pod tlay.

Lexie trailed after Arthur into the mess hall, which was already izzing with people.

She’d barely sat down before someone slid a heaping platter of am meat right in front of her.

The steam was rising off it, and the aroma was mouthwatering.

Lexie slipped on her gloves, picked up a massive bone, and start gnawing away.

The meat had a great texture, with a subtle sweetness and a hint of something she’d never tasted before. Lexie couldn’t help herself, and she reached for more pieces.

The beastmen around her couldn’t help but chuckle at how much she was enjoying her sell.

“Oh, right, Dr. Cole, you said Aram is some kind of medicinal ingredient. What does it actually cure? Lexie asked.

As soon as Lexie said that, everyone around her couldn’t help but laugh.

Seeing everyone stifling their laughter, Lexie was left scratching her head.

Is there something weird about this Aram meat?‘ she wondered

Seeing Lexie looking puzzled. Arthur jumped in to explain, “Aram meat is like a miracle for your skin. Eat it, and you’ll notice your skin getting better every single day. You’ll be absolutely glowing.

“Even if you’re an artificial female bot straight out of a lab, this stuff will make your skin soft and smooth, way better than any fancy skincare product.”

Lexie’s eyes went wide in disbelief. She never imagined that this plain–looking beast meat could actually work wonders.

“Seriously? You’re not pulling my leg, are you?” Lexie asked.

Arthur just laughed and shook his head. “Why would I ever lie to you? Eat Aram meat for three days straight, and trust me, your skin will be soft, smooth, and absolutely radiant.”

After hearing Arthur’s explanation, Lexie eyed the Aram meat in her hand and didn’t hesitate to dig in.

Her official identity might be an artificial female bot, but she knew she was a girl. No girl could refuse the idea of becoming more beautiful.

Seeing Lexie devouring the meat, Arthur grinned and nudged the platter even closer.

He joked, “Lex. just take your time. That Aram was massive. You’ll be eating for days.”

“Don’t you guys want any?” Lexie asked, her confusion showing.

“We don’t eat it, Lex. We’re beastmen. Why do we need smooth skin? It’s pretty much useless to us,” Arthur replied.

“Huh?” Lexie blinked, still not getting it.

But the smell of the Aram meat was just too tempting, and Lexie couldn’t be bothered to think about anything else right.

After finishing off the whole platter of Aram meat, Lexie couldn’t help but marvel at just how much she could eat now.

Back before she transmigrated to this world, a plate like that would’ve lasted her a whole week.

But now, she could polish off the whole thing in one sitting. She was practically a bottomless pit.

Seriously, I can eat like a total glutton now, Lexie thought, a little amazed at herself.

She took the sterile napkin from the dining bot and wiped her mouth and hands, then patted her full belly.

Out of nowhere, she felt so comfy that she could just pass out right there at the table.

Seeing Lexie totally at ease, Arthur just smiled at her and turned his attention back to his own dinner.

When he finished eating, he realized Lexie had curled up in her hair, fast asleep. The warriors nearby automatically hushed up, not wanting to disturb her nap.

Just as Arthun was about to pick Lexie up, someone else beat him to it and scooped her into their arms first.

Arthin looked up, only to see Austin already standing there.

Austin gave Arthur a frosty glance, then carried Lexie away with another word.

Austin headed straight for Lexie’s room, glanced around at her newly spruced–up place, and then carefully tucked her into

Maybe it was just his mind playing tricks on him, but when he hd Lexie in his arms, she didn’t feel like an artificial female bot at all. She felt just like a real female.

But just thinking about the Clyssia Virus was enough for Austin shut down those thoughts immediately.

Arthur had said it himself–if a female ever left the sterile pod, he wouldn’t last a day out here.

If Lexie were really a female, there was no way she could be here with them now.

Maybe I’m just imagining things, Austin thought, shaking off the feeling.
