“Was it just instinct? Lex, even though you’re just a female, you still jumped in front of a beastman when danger showed up.
“Lex, do you like Gary that much?” he asked.
“Of course I do! Gary’s my mate now. How could I not like him? Plus, he’s so good–looking, has that flirty vibe, and knows exactly how to sweet–talk me.
“He’s always looking out for me, and after spending so much time together, how could I not fall for him?” Lexie replied.
“Is it the kind of love where you’d actually put yourself in harm’s way for him?” Kaelis asked quietly.
Lexie turned her head at Kaelis’s soft question, tilting it as she met his eyes. She looked at him seriously and asked, “Kaelis, does it really bother you that I’m so good to Gary?”
“It’s not that I mind. Honestly, I’m just really jealous of him,” Kaelis said quietly.
“Yeah, I really am jealous of him. Lex, if you could treat me the way you treat Gary, that would be so great,” Kaelis added, his voice soft.
Hearing Kaelis’s words and seeing the deep affection in his eyes, Lexie just froze, caught off guard by the look he gave her.
She remembered how, earlier today, he’d stepped in front of her without hesitation, putting his life on the line to protect
her.
After a moment’s hesitation, Lexie looked at Kaelis and asked gently, “Kaelis, you like me, don’t you?”
“Yeah, I do. I really, really like you. Lex, do you think… maybe you could feel the same way about me?” Kaelis asked, his voice trembling with hope.
After a brief pause, she looked at Kaelis softly and said, “Kaelis, I already have mates and children. Me and the Merman King, Kaelis Tideborne, already have three mer eggs together.
“If you like me, you have to know I can’t love you alone. Would you still choose to care about me, even knowing that?”
“Of course,” Kaelis said without hesitation. “From the moment I met you, I already knew you had mates and children, and I knew exactly who they were.
“But Lex, that never changed how I feel about you. I like you, just for you, not because of who you are, or whether you have mates and children. None of that matters to me,
“I just want you to know, there’s someone out there who truly loves you, someone who’d do anything for you.
50 Lex, could you give me a chance? Even just a little?
“If you don’t like me, that’s okay But could you at least let me chase after you? If, in the end, you still don’t feel anything for me, I’ll let go and stop liking you Is that alright?”
Lexic paused, a bit stunned, her gaze meeting Kachis’s eyes through his mask. After a moment, she looked at him, seeing all the hope in his eyes, and spoke softly, Kaclis, can I take off your mask and see your face?
Kaelis was stunned for a moment by her words, but then his eyes sparkled with happiness
“Wait, is Lex actually saying yes? Is she really choosing me? Kaelis thought, his heart racing with excitement

Lexie knew that in the Snow Wolf Clan, if a female took off a beastman’s mask, it was basically her way of saying she wanted to be with him.
Just a while ago, Lexie had taken off the High Priest’s mask, and that meant she was already his.
But now, Lexie was actually asking if she could take off his mask, Kaelis could hardly believe it.
This is incredible!‘ Kaelis thought, his heart racing with happiness.
Seeing the joy written all over Kaelis’s face, Lexie’s lips curled into a gentle smile. She met his eyes and asked again, just to make sure.
“Kaelis, can I take off your mask and see your face now?” she asked softly.
“Yeah, of course you can,” Kaelis said, his voice shaking with excitement.
Kaelis couldn’t hide his happiness. He reached out, grabbed Lexie’s hand, and gently placed it on his mask.
His grip was a little shaky, like he was passing all his nerves and hope straight into her palm.
Lexie felt the heat of his hand and all those feelings he couldn’t say out loud. Her heart warmed up, almost melting at the touch.
She took a deep breath, then carefully lifted Kaelis’s mask. The moment it came off, an unbelievably handsome face appeared right in front of her eyes.
Kaelis’s features were deep and striking, as if sculpted from marble. His eyes were filled with a gentle, heartfelt warmth that looked like it could melt anyone’s heart in a second.
Lexie stared at his face, a strange, indescribable feeling swelling in her chest. She’d never expected that the face Kaelis hid behind his mask would be this breathtaking.
Right now, he was standing right in front of her, their eyes meeting and holding.
They just stood there, lost in each other’s gaze, like the whole world had gone silent. Everything else faded away, right now, it was just the two of them, seeing no one but each other.
Just as Lexie and Kaelis were totally lost in each other’s eyes, before either of them could say a word, a voice suddenly cut in, totally ruining the mood and making Lexie go beet red.
“Dory, Lex and this beastman of the Snow Wolf Clan, their hormones are going wild, seriously maxed out!
“With their hormones shooting up like that, and now that they’ve both confessed,
“If this was a classic beastman romance, isn’t it about time for them to, you know, mate?” Ares said.
“Ares, shut up! Lexie snapped, her face burning with embarrassment.
