With that, Lexie started to head for the cave entrance. But before she could even get there, Dory and Ares stepped in front of her, blocking her way.

Lex, don’t go out there. Whatever’s happening outside, it’s not your problem, Dory said.

Lexie hesitated for a moment, and then nodded in agreement.

She thought, ‘Yeah, whatever mess is going on out there, I can’t do anything about it. If I step out, Dory and Ares will just have to clean up after me.’

Besides, Kaelis is still knocked out, and the only backup I have is a tumbleweed beast that couldn’t even fight its way out of paper bag.’

Given the situation, she figured it was best not to get involved or stick her nose where it didn’t belong.

After all, she wasn’t in any position to join in.

All she needed to do now was keep her head down and not cause Dory and Ares any extra trouble.

As for everything else, none of it was her business anyway. She couldn’t do anything about it even if she wanted to.

With that in mind, Lexie quietly sat down by the heater, leaned against the tumbleweed beast’s soft body, and listened to th fierce fighting going on outside.

It’s freezing out there, and the snowstorm is raging. Who’d be crazy enough to fight out there right now?she wondered.

Just as she was wondering, out in the blizzard, a massive purple ninetailed fox and a huge Snow Wolf were side by side, braving the howling wind and teaming up to battle the Bloodthirsty Beasts swarming all around them.

Gary and the High Priest had the scales Frost gifted them, so the Bloodthirsty Beasts hesitated to attack, clearly wary of

hem.

These Bloodthirsty Beasts didn’t dare make the first move, but Gary and the High Priest were fighting like their lives depended on it, hellbent on wiping them out.

The High Priest had dropped his usual gentle, almost ethereal vibe. In the middle of the raging blizzard, he was all dangerous edge, radiating pure fury.

His eyes were like twin torches, fixed on the Bloodthirsty Beasts circling him.

These Bloodthirsty Beasts hadn’t just killed off several members of the Snow Wolf Clan, they’d even kidnapped Lexie and Kaelis right under their noses.

Lexie was his mate, and Kaelis was the chief of the Snow Wolf Clan. If either of them got hurt, it’d be all on him. Heil never, forgive himself as High Priest.

He’d spent the last few days trying to patch up the holes in the Bloodthirsty Beastsholding cells, and never hagined thesd damn beasts would dare to run wild in Snow Wolf territory the second he turned his back

Hatred burning in his chest, the High Priest glared at the Bloodthirsty Beasts with a ferocity that was nothing like the cal gentle side Lexic was used to seeing

Seeing the Bloodthirsty Beasts all pouncing on Gary, the High Priest was the first to leap into action. He slashed at their with his massive wolf claws, his movements sharp and lightning fast

Chapter 191

56 youchiers

With one powerful swipe, he tore right through the beastsmisty forms, scattering them and forcing them out of the swirling snow, revealing their true shapes in an instant.

The Bloodthirsty Beasts were by far the ugliest species in the whole Aetherion Interstellar Zone. They were vicious to the core, and their favorite food was beastman flesh.

But the worst part? Because they were so hideous, they had a sick habit of devouring beastmen’s faces

Gary had never actually seen a Bloodthirsty Beast up close before. But when he finally did, he couldn’t help but grimace

Gary was so stunned, and it took him a while before he finally blurted out.

Damn, they’re ugly as hell! How the hell did something this hideous even end up in this world?

No wonder they tried to eat my face earlier. Must’ve been because they’re so damn ugly. Seeing my dropdead gorgeous face just made them feel insecure, Gary said, totally deadpan.

What?

The High Priest, bristling with fury, couldn’t help but freeze for a second at Gary’s comment.

He thought, Of all times, how is Gary still in the mood to joke around?

His eyes locked onto the Bloodthirsty Beastsfaces. Honestly, just like Gary said, these creatures were ugly beyond belief.

Supposedly, these Bloodthirsty Beasts were just kids, but their faces were a mess of wrinkles, eyes buried so deep that they looked halfdead, gleaming with pure greed, and drool dripping everywhere. Seriously, they were nightmare fuel.

Fur? If you could call it that. Splotches of white, splotches of black, random bald patches all over. Add in their mismatched legs and those creepy, naked tails flailing about, a recipe for pure horror.

One glance and one would want to bleach his eyeballs because these things were the definition of nasty.

Gary’s roast must’ve really ticked them off, because as soon as he finished, the Bloodthirsty Beasts roared and charged straight at him.

Gary’s gaze sharpened. He dodged quick as lightning, and then swung his claws with deadly force, slashing right at the beasts.

The High Priest didn’t miss a beat, he flanked Gary on the left, and together they worked like a welloiled machine, finishing off those Bloodthirsty Beasts in no time.

When the last Bloodthirsty Beast finally dropped, Gary let out a long sigh of relief, dusted off the snow clinging to him, and gave his nine huge tails a shake. After checking himself for any injuries and finding none, he turned to the High Priest

Hey, High Priest, you alright?Gary called out, genuine concern in his voice.

The High Priest just shook his head slightly, his eyes clouded with doubt.

He thought, Gary always comes off like a total slacker, never taking anything seriously. But the fight shows there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye!

Those were Bloodthirsty Beasts, and he made it look easier than I ever could

If he’s really that strong, how did he end up letting the Bloodthirsty Beasts take Lexie?
