Hearing Ryker’s words. Keon quickly looked up and gave Lexie, who was hiding behind Ryker, a serious look
As he studied her, Keon’s eyes narrowed unconsciously. He asked Is she a true female?”
“I wish Lexie were a true female,” Ryker replied. “But Dr. Cole sal she isn’t. The Clyssia Virus can’t be cured.”
“Is that so?” Keon said.
Keon tossed the dagger aside, drove it into the wooden floor with a thud, then marched straight toward Lexie.

Keon’s vibe was so intense that Lex instinctively shrank back behind Ryker. She couldn’t help it. She was just a scaredy–cat.
Seeing Lexie like that, Keon stopped in his tracks and gave Lexie a thoughtful look.
Keon thought to himself, ‘Aren’t all those artificial female bots supposed to be total airheads? How come this one actually
seems smart?
‘Maybe that’s why Marshal Drake chose her?‘
Just as Keon was lost in thought, his gaze met Ryker’s icy stare.
Ryker said coldly, “Keon, I had Lexie come here to save your life so you’d better watch your attitude around her.
“If you want to die, I’ll take Lexie and leave right now. But if you want to live, you’d better do as she says.
“Once you’re cured, I’m taking her out of here. Honestly, if you weren’t my brother, I’d never have dragged Lexie to this dump.”
Even though Keon really didn’t want to, after hearing Ryker’s words, he could only plop down in the chair and wait for Lexie to work her magic.
Seeing Keon sitting obediently in the chair, Lexie poked her head out from behind Ryker and spoke up cautiously, “Um, I need to… pet your dog–no, I mean your leopard head.
“That’s the only way to treat you. Please don’t get mad when I do it, okay?”
“Just pet my head?” Keon asked.
No need to get intimate physical contact? When other artificial female bots help beastmen with their genetic issues, they usually have to hook up with them, Keon thought to himself.
“What else did you expect?” Lexie shot back, her face full of confusion.
Keon saw the puzzled look on Lexie’s face but didn’t bother to explain. He just closed his eyes and beckoned her over
Out of fear, Lexie clung to Ryker and pulled him along with her,
As they walked, she kept whispering, “Ryker, if your brother tries to bite me, you’ve got to back me up, okay? My skin’s too soft for that kind of bite.”
Hearing Lexie’s muttering, Ryker glanced thoughtfully at Keon, who was sitting in the chair, his knuckles white and veins bulging.
Then he answered, “Don’t worry, Lex. I’ll stay with you. If he trick anything. I’ll knock some sense into him.”
Beastmen had crazy good hearing, so even if Lexie was whispering, Keon could still hear every word.

Mostly for Ryker’s sake, even though Keon caught Lexie’s mutteng, he did his best to keep his anger under control, not letting his face twist into something scary.
If I freak out Lexic, my dumb brother will definitely be mad at me, Keon thought.
When Lexie finally came face to face with him, Keon forced out smile.
But honestly, he should’ve just skipped the smile. When those razor–sharp fangs flashed, Lexie instinctively took a step back.
‘Geez! He is scary enough, but that smile is a total nightmare,’ Lexie thought.
Seeing Lexie get spooked, Keon stopped smiling. His face went one cold, lips pressed tight, looking all icy and distant.
Seeing Keon like that, Lexie finally breathed a little easier.
Seeing that scene, for some reason, Keon just got even more annoyed.
Lexie said, “Uh, I’m gonna put my hand on your head now. If you feel weird, just bite Ryker instead.
“Trust me, my wrists are all bone. There’s nothing good to chew on anyway.”
“Shut up and get to work,” Keon snapped.
“Oh, okay,” Lexie replied.
Even though Keon sounded super impatient and Lexie was still freaking out, with Ryker’s encouraging look, she finally reached out and put her hand right on top of Keon’s head.
As soon as her hand landed, the soft, fluffy fur made her eyes go wide with surprise.
Whoa, this actually feels pretty nice,‘ Lexie thought.
Even though she was scared out of her mind, for some reason, her hand couldn’t help but give his head a few sneaky
scritches.
Lexie thought, totally amazed, ‘Oh my! The very first time I ever touched a leopard’s head. This is weirdly awesome.
“Too bad I’m not in my old world anymore. If I were, I’d totally last this crazy new experience on my Instagram.
‘Wait, I can’t post it on Instagram, but I can use Interstellar Net.
‘I already have an account on Interstellar Net. I can totally post about all this and maybe score a bunch of new followers.
I heard that getting popular online could actually bring in some real money.
‘If I manage to make it out alive, I have to figure out a way to support myself.
‘So, starting right now, I’ll post all the wild stuff I experience on nterstellar Net and try to attract some fans.
‘Once I leave Austin, I can totally make a living on my own!
Just thinking about it, Lexie suddenly felt way better.
“Um…” Lexie mumbled, her fingers unconsciously rubbing Keon big ears as she tried to get the words out.
Keon, still half–lost in how good Lexie’s touch felt on his head, couldn’t help but snap when he saw her hesitating, “Just say it straight.”
“Can I post about what happens between us on Interstellar Net?on’t worry, I’ll blur out both our faces. No one will know it’s

you.” Lexie asked.

Keon’s brows knitted together when he heard Lexie’s request. He wanted to say no, but with her fingers working their magic on his ears, it was just too good to refuse.
He closed his eyes, looking totally blissed out. After a moment’s esitation, he finally nodded. “Fine, you can post it, but make sure to blur my face. Can’t let anyone recognize me.
“If anyone recognizes me, how will I show my face again?”
“Okay, no problem.” Lexie agreed.
As soon as Keon agreed, Lexie quickly brought up the recording orb on her Optic Brain, eager to document every second of their interaction.
With Keon cooperating, Lexie, who honestly had zero idea how to help with a beastman’s genetic illness, just went at it like she was petting a big dog, doing whatever felt nice.
Thanks to Lexie’s enthusiastic and totally random head pats, Keon’s eyes slowly closed in comfort, and he even started to
purr.
Keon never imagined he’d actually enjoy being touched by an artificial female bot. The feeling was weird and unfamiliar, but even though he was kind of stunned, he couldn’t help letting himself enjoy it.
